Thanks Kiwichik! No they are big allover. I'm not sure taking the waist in would solve the fit problems.

Thanks for being honest, Shannon!

Sylvie, I tried it with the legs unrolled and a belt, but the fit is still off tbh.

Thanks Claire. I didn't take pictures because I'm already in my pjs, but after I first tried them on I played around some more and did the tucking and the belt, and they still looked to big. Even with belting, there's just too much fabric in the crotch area.

Thanks Inge. I like the idea of them too!

shoppingisfun, no it's not practical. We often have rainy weather and I could layer nothing over this. I agree on the printed pants... I'm thinking about ordering one size down for the checked pants.

The sweater-coat is adorable! If it's not practical for your climate, though, keep looking. The printed pants are, um....let's just say you could do much better. The plaid pants are not bad, it's worth trying on another size!

In my experience, online size charts measurements run WAY small. For instance, according to GAP's size chart, I should wear a size 2 in their jeans. However, a 0 is actually too big. According to the same chart, a 0P blazer should fit me; however, a 0P is actually way, way, WAY too big. I try not to buy online unless I'm familiar with the brand, but it's not always possible.

I'm also wondering how the checked trousers would look if you belted them and tried them with a shirt tucked in. I love the pattern and colour for you.

Too bad about 1 and 2. I had the most hope for the checked trousers. I don't think you should give up on them yet if they're supposed to be slouchy. I'd try them without socks (so they won't stick) and the shoes you would wear them with and a blouse. Then let us re-assess.

You are right to reject #1 and #2. They are just not fab enough for you.

For #3, how does it look with the waist pinned to your size and the legs unrolled? I think slouchy pants are supposed to have at least a *little* slouch at the bottom. Otherwise they just look way too large for you.

I'm afraid I have to be honest Astrid and say I'm not really feeling any love for any of these. Sorry!

Oh how disappointing. I think the too big coat would be great in the right size. I'm a pear shape so find pattern on the bottom half very challenging so would personally steer clear of these. as for 3-5 how is the fit on the thigh? If tgat s right maybe just get the waist taken in. I always have to do that with trousers.

ETA Here's the first thread http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....nted-pants.

They just arrived and first off - all is too big. Shows that you can't trust size charts.

#1 Besides being too big the coat is actually very warm and comfy. Although it's really not a coat at all but a giant knit sweater. With the wool it's so warm that you would need to wear it when it's cold and it would be completely impractical then. This one is definitely going back.

#2 The printed pants. Just one very unenthusiastic picture, but this just look awful in my opinion. I'm not sure I can wear these kind of pants. I won't try a smaller size - the fabric is very thin and they don't seem to be worth the money, so they'll go back..

#3 I really like the quality and fabric of these, but they are also too big. Should I try a smaller size? Once again I'm not sure about the cut of these on me.

Thoughts?
