I think you've made the right decision. Coming back to it this morning with eyes less careworn, I can see that IRL the effect would be a lot different!

Well that sorts it, thanks for all your great advice. Keeping reptile (which in person is much more subdued as a print and not an optical illusion to instill eye strain like it translates on computer) The other will go back because it's not really what I need. I'm still hunting for a solid (preferably cream, navy, grey or maybe red) slightly longer and single breasted. Sounds easy, but I know it's not.

I like that snake print trench. I'd buy it for myself. It fits you better than the CK.

First, I have to say how much I LOVE your WIW! Perfect polish and proportions, great accessorization, and you really wear pastels beautifully!

Like Suz and Amy and Meredith, I feel as though the CK --- great bargain though it is --- doesn't look fab *enough* for you. If you are after a quieter, neutral one, I'd say keep looking.

The print, on the other hand, I was leery of the sound of --- but it looks amazing on you! Very fresh, very versatile (since B&W after all), and very much a fun statement piece. I say yay!

I had a similar reaction to Suz, but maybe it's my computer screen. I got a little dizzy looking at the reptile. The camel would be "fine", but the color washes you out a bit. What about an orange trench?!

LOVE your WIW.

Well my eyes are biased because as soon as I saw the reptile I thought of Angie's inspiration trouser look from yesterday and how this would work right in. So I think you should keep it and "find" some emerald trousers to go with it. Love your wiw too!

Hmm. I seem to be in the minority here, but I am not crazy about Mr. Snake. It may be simply because the pattern feels like ALGO to my computer dazed eyes, but I think he is a tad overwhelming for your colouring, whereas the blush coat this morning made you glow. OTOH, I can certainly see how a coat like this could be a lot of fun.

As for your WIW - WOW!!! Stunning! Love the textures and the equestrian vibe; you do those tall boots so well!

I am unsure about the CK trench. It seems okay but not fab, if you know what I mean. Still, for the price, it is a steal! So....not a lot of help from me, I'm afraid!

I really like the reptile print one! Do keep, please!
The second one looks more like a winter coat than a spring trench, but if fills a wardrobe hole, then why not- especially if hubs is intrigued...

I really like the print trench. It's so patterned that it almost reads as a netutral to me (if that makes any sense at all.) I'm not crazy about the other trench. I think the collar looks too big and the overall effect is kind of bulky. Are these for two different seasons? I could see the second trench for fall or winter but it doesn't look very spring-y if that is your intention. LURVE your WIW. You look equestrian sassy! It's gorgeous and SO you!

Claire - busted! I have not been caught up with WIW and I was reminded of this when I tried on the KC jacket but didn't feel like digging out everything again. I felt a bit equestrienne.
Details: Khaki skinnies Worn Jeans, Bobeau lace shell, The Shirt button down, Dav rain boots, Necklace from the Rack ($9.97 on clearance and I've worn it like 4 times in a week.)

Jj I love the fit and length of the reptile print and I think it would look great over pants and possibly even knee length pencil skirts. I also like how it looks open. I think you could have fun with this. I know you have just tried it on over what you were wearing at the time, but I think it would look great over colored jeans and also a dark wash denim.

I also like the second coat. It looks classic and stylish. Fun option of the fur collar or not. It looks slightly bigger than the first one but the fit still looks good to me, particularly if you are going to layer under it.

And I absolutely love your outfit it #5...perfection!

I returned the blush trench (http://youlookfab.com/welookfa.....-rack-find) because it just wasn't making me feel fab.
While at TJ Maxx I found these 2 contenders:
1-4. Kenneth Cole Black/grey reptile print (about as opposite from the blush as can be). I rather like this. Would have worked great with my DC meetup outfit (#5) and rainboots, but I'd need a new umbrella... How does it look? It would not be my everything trench, it's lightweight so definitely spring. Will the reptile print look crazy or dated? Double breasted coat and my er. figure?

2nd contender (6-9) is Calvin Klein Camel (not SSB) brushed cotton (water resistant) with removable fur collar. It's lined so more of a Fall trench. A little bulky, but I'd need to wear more layers underneath. As Jonesy said, this one actually makes me feel like "a glamorous super spy or something.." and DH had some interesting ideas for it.
They were each $49 marked down about 3 times so not bad there. Of course the sensor was not removed from Calvin (found it when I removed the kittycat on the collar).
Opinions? Still looking? I would still like a longer one for dresses, but this would be my pants and casual wear one.
