Thank you, Lisa.
"Had" is the word--I packed it up today and slid the whole shebang under the bed. I did keep a few things out for the fall wardrobe.

JenW--Yes, I need another hat, I think. I always wear a blush wide rimmed "Tilly" whenever we go camping--I love it for keeping the sun out of my eyes.

Thanks, Lantana, that is very kind of you to say so.

Wow, what a fabulous summer you have had. These are without exception marvellous outfits that somehow project your personality with simple style.

As one who is " upside down", I appreciate this early inspiration for spring and summer dressing.

So fun to see your summer in review! What a lovely capsule you've built. My favorite is 7. You rock the white out and that hat is fab on you! Can't wait to see how your fall wardrobe comes together.

BJ1111--I see it now! Yes =, going from white to black--it does ook interesting. I really had not noticed that before. And thanks for the advice to wear more white. I will see what I can do.

Laura--well, I am about to see where I am at for fall/winter and see what's what. Looking forward to making upa new spreadsheet, lol.

Clearlyclare--thanks so much for that tip. I have tried it with these--and it is difficult for them to stay in place. I thought maybe if I got some simple stud earrings to fasten the pre-pleated roll in place --even just to keep the vertical pleat in place--I could do something.

Jackiec--I did not wear that blue paisly shirt enough--it was especially for that shirt that I wished I had a white skirt--even a light wash pencil would have done. I'll keep my eye out for next summer.

Thanks for taking the time to read and comment. I appreciate it so much.

Hi Alana! We should be thanking YOU because you are such a bright ray of sunshine on the forum! I love your posts :)

You are really coming along with your wardrobe and your style - seriously - you can see it in the photos that you do have. I absolutely love #5, and the plaid shorts and T is a close second for me. I love casual looks, and isn't it just SO hard on hot hot days?!

Thanks for sharing and always being so positive.

This is a great synopsis Alana. Number 7 is my favorite; the hat just makes it for me! I agree that your denim jeggings are pretty loose for jeggings. They fit you more like jeans, at least around the calves (calfs?). There is a way you can fold the roll so that it's tighter on your leg, I don't know if you've tried it. You make a little vertical pleat before you begin, tightening it on your leg, and then you make your roll. A few turns should keep the pleat in place, giving your pants a more pegged appearance. Kudos on your first season completed with YLF. You've accomplished a lot with your wardrobe. :)

Great evolution.

Live 7,8,4 in that order.

You need to wear more white. I love 8 because of the color gradation, seemed very sophisticated to me.

Alana - I love this post. As a curvy gal myself coming to love ones body where it is at is huge. I had my personal epiphany 3 years ago and haven't looked back. I have learned so much from you posts myself as my own style is evolving.
You are really putting thought into creating a wardrobe which will serve you well as you begin to add things. I wish I had known about YLF 3 years ago when I started my style journey. I could have avoided some expensive mistakes.
My favorite outfits 3,5 7 and 8.
Outfit 5 is inspiration for an outfit next week for me

Please, grab a beverage and get comfy.

First and foremost, I cannot say how much I have loved being
here with you all this summer. After I had my realisation that I wasn’t going
to wait until I was “thin enough” to look good and have nice clothes, I
scurried over to this website for guidance, help and celebration. You did not
disappoint. I am so grateful.

Ok.

The Numbers:

17
pieces.

2 toppers

8 tops

6 bottoms

1 dress --for a wedding at a winery. We can ignore the dress
as I only wore it the once for its intended occasion.

Accessories: 3 pairs of shoes, one hat, one purse. jewellrey.

I made up a chart and calculated all the different ways I
could wear my pieces (I did not take the accessories into account). I came up with 81. (I also had two additional outfits based on a pair
of brown capris which I had not intended to wear, but used them to make up a
couple of fun Angie Ensembles. Ensemble 1: simple brown and white, Ensemble 2: All the Neutrals.) This is more than I need since this is a
wardrobe I wear only when I am not working—so I am hanging out at home or
running errands or socializing—and summer is short.

Unfortunately, I did not get into stride with recording my
wears until August. So, for my data, I have only 28 recorded wears (rw).

Of these recorded wears, the three pieces I wore the most were my dark wash denim “jeggings,” (7/28
rw) my sleeveless black and white small print knit top ( 8/28 rw) and my black
jersey waterfall cardigan (9/28 rw). All three pieces are illustrated in Pic #1
(also an outfit Angie liked.)

The outfit I remember wearing the most was my plaid shorts
and black tee shirt. I would change into it the moment I got home from work. It was an extraordinarily hot summer and my
workplace is not air conditioned. (Pic
#2.)

After asking all you wonderful fabbers to evaluate those
wears I had recorded, these were your faves:

#1: sharkey and my black pencil skirt/skort (Pic #3)

#2: White denim and that sleeveless black and white print top
with my black cardigan (Pic #4)

And it was a toss up for #3, between the plaid shorts and
black Tee (pic # 2) and the striped top with jeans (pic # 7) so I’ll pick:
white NYDJ, sleeveless blue paisley, with my denim jacket and orange/coral accessories. (pic #5)

I wish I’d recorded more of what I wore. I wish I had posted
more WIW as we went along—but those two things are easily fixed going forward
and don’t really have anything to do with my wardrobe per se.

The Evaluation:

The white Eileen Fisher tank is an odd duck. I will look for
a replacement next year, but happily wear it if I cannot find something
better. Some of you liked it, some of
you most certainly did not. (Pic #6 and #7)

My dark wash denim jeggings were also weird. They aren’t
really all that slim in the calf—so rolling looked almost “too full.” I want to
replace these, if I can find something better. Another top I would like to
replace is the black and white striped knit. (Pic #8) I want a more classical
Breton style striped top. The black bottom on this one meant I could not wear
it with my white bottoms and I didn’t like that as this was the only top with sleeves in my wardrobe.

So, as for what I’d like to add:

A pair of white shorts or pencil skirt. You guys suggested
it be tapered in at the knee. I kept wishing I had a white bottom to wear when it
was too hot for pants and/or they were in the wash. Gladiator sandals or Bernias. My black
sandals from Walmart are done. I am not unhappy about that! I will also need
some more short sleeved Tees and tops for “normal” summer days. You all suggested getting those tops in bright colours. You also thought I could add some cognac accents, a wider
brimmed hat, a tube skirt (to knee), and some sassy sneakers.

Thank you all so much for being a part of my summer!

Here’s to a great Fall—and a great Spring to those of you
upside down! ;)
