Beth Ann is so good with her descriptions--I like "crisp, feminine" to describe this capsule. It's all going to be wonderful on you. I love the cohesive feel. You really did brilliantly with your shopping.

Oh, this is great, Runcarla - you've done SO well in building up a couple of fab capsules from scratch. You have some lovely, varied, versatile pieces here. Thank you for showing the progression - I found this instructive and inspiring. Your necklace is gorgeous.

You've got some great stuff here ! I am using those two capsules myself this spring to (hopefully) keep me focussed and not buying all sorts of random things like I usually do. I quite like your footwear choices too - nice colours. But my favourite thing is that NECKLACE!! I love it!

Wow, really love your purchases this year, Carla! That cotton brocade(=means has a deep brocade/texture pattern on it?) trench is a great cut, and I just love pictie nr 5-it's really like one of those Angie's capsule illustration-you did so very well with sticking to that fab color scheme! I'm in awe about the 2 new shoes, too!:-)

Good job! I really like the shoes at #6.
I can never wait until the new season actually starts to put my new purchases into rotation. And given that we just got more snow today, I'm feeling the urge to push spring forward by wearing something bright, new & cheerful!

Angie's blog about shopping patterns, and forum posts about tracking purchases and wear inspired me to document my clothes shopping. Time (and money!) in 2014 was consumed by a relocation. With the exception of shoes (!) very little was added to my closet last year. Sorting my closet led to a mini purge of tired worn out items, and a few that weren't working for me.

In January I started shopping again and this is what happened.

January (first picture) resulted in 3 separate purchases:
-Tahari ice blue sweater - love at first sight!
-Navy pencil skirt from Melanie Lyne - was looking for black, but was tickled to find this nice dark blue version, just to the knee
-Fossil bag in hunter green - I stalked this baby at Winner's for 3 months before pulling the trigger. I've been carrying it exclusively since picking it up.

February I had an 'Aha!' moment:
-while picking up the black cotton brocade trench at Suzy Shier (2nd picture) I found this 'statement necklace' at clearance (3rd picture). Though it turned out 'de trop' for my style, just looking at it's happy blingey-ness makes me smile-and the colours (pale blue, green, grey, white) provided the inspiration for my next spring purchases.
-I couldn't resist these lovely Peter Kaiser kitten heel shoes in navy. The leather is an interesting check of suede and patent. (4th picture)

March shopping spree! Half a day off and an overnight in the BIG CITY. 6 items in 7 hours, filled out the capsule. (#5+#6)
-navy trousers - Loft Marissa trouser in 99% cotton. They feel like a heavy linen and are l-o-n-g with a bit of a flare.
-stripped button down - Ann Taylor
-floral skirt - Marshall's
-pale blue merino sweater - Cynthia Rowley
-structured navy windowpane sleeveless top - Jones of NY
-blue toeless shooties - Steeve Madden

Then, just last weekend while shopping for a sundress, I spied these Adrienna Pappell cropped pants (icy blue! In my size!) behind the change room counter. They were waiting to be returned to the store floor. Perfect fit! (#7)

#8 and #9 are the Angie posts that inspired my work capsule.

Some items have already been worn, but the capsule will go into full rotation after Easter or when the snow is gone! Many items work with the whites and greys already in my closet, and I have a navy leather clutch. I anticipate enough variety to keep me interested, and a summer of fashion happiness.

Suggestions, comments, welcomed.
