For me, my grey/navy versions are low contrast when I wear them with jeans. In your case, if you want them for summer, you'd want a pastel/white/cream so that the contrast between your exposed leg and the sneakers is minimal. (I think that is how Angie is defining contrast levels). Lighter sneakers are also more summery. I tend to wear mine more in autumn/winter/spring so go for a darker sneaker.

Have you asked your peanut gallery for suggestions? You never know...!!

Thanks ladies. I have to ask another ?. What would a low contrast sneaker be?

I don't absolutely love them, and I wear sneakers on an almost daily basis (I have Cons, Diesels, Onitsuka Tigers and Sketchers that I alternate).

I'll have to look back at some of your other posts, as I am not familiar with what your reasons for return have been.

Personally, my grey sneakers have been the easiest to wear, closely followed by variations on navy. They blend into jeans, which for me, has been the easiest way to wear them. As I become more comfortable and familiar with a new style, I'll wear them with crops, shorts and skirts. I also have sneakers in a few different colours, which I also love wearing for a fun pop of colour.

I wouldn't have thought "bowling shoes" when looking at these ones, but they also don't strike me as being particularly "current". They certainly look comfortable though, and that could also make them a worthwhile purchase. I'd love to see you wearing a complete outfit so that I get a better idea of how you want to wear your sneakers, then I might be able to offer more useful advice! :)

I like them! But do wonder whether low contrast sneaks are a better solution.

ah good question. I can buy the caspians in grey as well. I should have posted a grey one as I will not be purchasing them in black. It is currently forbidden (by me).

Well, the decision will be made by the outfits you plan to wear them with. Do you think you'll get more wear out of a pair of grey trainers or a pair of black ones? Do you like your footwear to contrast with or complement your outfits?

The sneaky sneak continues to elude capture. I have purchased and returned for a variety of reasons all of these:
- red cons, white keds, gold gap, DCs, aqua vans, purple adidas.
I now have these Josef Seibel grey leather sneakers. (pic 1, 2). The fit is quite good.
Of course the peanut gallery thinks they look like bowling shoes but they can be gracefully ignored.
What do you ladies think? Are they a good option? Would the caspians be better? (pic 3).
