I like the advice I'm reading here! A dark-colored dress (either black or navy) that's at least knee-length or longer would be beautiful.

I also have to interject that, while sparkly and fun in some aspects, the shoes have an overt sexiness to them which bothers me a bit considering your age. I know you want to feel pretty and edgy and maybe just a bit shocking, because, let's face it, that's FUN! I like to do that myself; however I always keep in mind something my husband told me: a woman with a hint of sexiness to her is far more intriguing that one with it written all over her. Imagine this: a dress that covers the bust and legs, but is form-fitting, not tight; or a looser dress that is slightly sheer (only slightly--we want to *hint* not give everything away), etc. You can achieve this kind of thing with a modest dress and those edgy shoes.

How comfortable are you at standing out from a crowd? When I was your age, I wanted to blend in with everyone else, but now that I'm older, I love standing out--even if just a little bit. If I were going to a formal dance and all the other girls would be wearing shorter dresses, then that's exactly what I'd steer clear of. I would not want to look like everyone else! I'd pick something tea length or longer to stand out and make a statement.

Just food for thought! When you do find your dress, please let us see Have fun.

Is Homecoming different than Prom? Maybe I wore the dress for Prom then if Prom is more formal? I can't remember... ;_; and it's only been like what? 10 years? Lol. Anyways, if no one wears long dresses then i say just go with a dress that is a flared bottom rather than tight. I like the black dress idea and the idea to stick flats in your bag juuuuussssssstttttt in casssseeeeeeee.

I'm pretty sure no one wear long dresses to Homecoming anymore, sorry ladies. At least they didn't at my High School and College. Con con, I like the shoes with a black dress. I fear white or red would make you look a bit like a flag. Let us know what you pick!

I'll never forget, my mom let me borrow these 6" white platform shoes to wear to...either my homecoming or prom...i usually skipped the dances because i thought they were lame and the boyfriends i had were always out of high school already. But anyways, these shoes were straight up....um...lady of the night shoes. >.> They were a big hit with my friends B-U-T i did wear them with a floor length dress. All the girls wore floor length dresses to those things. Not sure how it is now.

ETA: I thought maybe i should come back and mention that my mother was not a lady of the night. Though she did have a fondness for the shoes they wore. And leather.

Ive looked closely at you wearing these shoes and you are going to be literally on your toes all night. Not even a professional dancer would do that to her feet. How about, since you've bought them , you love them and they are not going back, you wear them to arrive, to leave, and to sit down in. Take some ballet flats to dance in. I think you could wear these shoes peeping out from a handkerchief hem on a long flowing chiffon maxi dress, bare around the shoulders. That would tone down their outlandishness and maybe send a better message about you, ie you are a stylish young woman with an outlandish "edge". I also think you are an amazing young woman to put yourself on the line like this, ask for feedback, listen to it and seek a compromise. Go girl!

I think IF you wear them...and I think your feet are gonna kill you if you do...you need a dress that is at least knee length.

I like the idea of a navy blue or black dress (or yellow?). I wouldn't go matchy-matchy with the shoes, though. Maybe black velvet?

They remind me of this outfit I wore a while back...Keep in mind, my shoes are SUEDE, not sequined, and I'm wearing them with red tights, a LOOSE black velvet knee-length dress and a denim jacket, so I've dressed them WAY down. Only one over-the-top item per outfit, please...

http://outfitdiary.blogspot.co.....ntime.html

But, and I cannot over-emphasize this, your feet are gonna hurt so bad if you wear these to homecoming. Just be forewarned.

I'm still uncomfortable with these shoes for you, given how very young you are. I'd love for you to be on a path that sets you up to be a classy, fab, mature, young woman from the inside out --and I'd like your clothes to give that message for you.

Wow - those are very bold (and pretty) shoes Con-Con! It's hard to judge your potential outfit for homecoming without seeing the dresses you're considering. Personally, I think the shoes look neat, but far too high for a school dance...but that is a decision for your family and yourself to make! Are you comfortable walking/dancing in those shoes? That is an important question to consider! If so, perhaps let us see the accompanying dress (whether you're wearing it or just take a shot of the dress(es) )and that will help us with giving advice.

I think a simple, modest black dress would look great with these. Something that simultaneously tones them down and lets them shine, if that makes sense.

Okay so I wasn't planning on wearing tiny clothes with these. I was gonna wear them to homecoming with a short black, blue, red, or white dress. Does that sound okay?
