And the contrast issue - I remember back when I was a teen I had a very bold black and white striped sweater that I loved, so I guess either my brain has changed or my eyesight has changed (or both)! It feels natural and comfortable and I don't know what it is but they do look good on me; I'm not just kidding myself here. My striped tops/ sweaters are almost universally fluid to slouchy.
