I hear you about dots -- I've all but eliminated them from my closet, except for a couple of pieces that I love irrationally. I think for me it's a combination of dot size and placement (big or small, random or spaced), color and contrast (an old favorite tonal grey dot tee is getting pilly but defies the Goodwill bag), and the general style of the garment. </p> <p>As for what I'm loving right now? I know there were years in my life when I had very little idea what I liked. I actually was interested in style, and I read lots of books, but it was all about systems/rules/analysis. It wasn't about responding to something from inside of me. Now I'm gradually learning to listen to the voice inside me that tells me what I love. For instance, I love all shades of yellow-green, which analysis says I can't wear because I am "cool." I'm finally giving in and as I've said here recently, when I wear my chartreuse or apple green, people stop dead in their tracks and say, "That's a great color on you!"</p> <p>I think a big reason I loved this top is that it looked brownish gray to me and I LOVED that. The people I was with said it was gray, and I kept seeing brown. &nbsp;Then today when I went to the website it said "shiitake"!!! Nobody else has to think brownish-gray, mushroom, is insanely wonderful! Because I do and it makes me happy to wear it.
