I found the black to be thicker than the navy, as I recall (might be the other way around, it's been a few seasons since I wore them!). DH has one in brown. We like them very much. They do show some wear, though. We bought them a year ago. I think mine is good for one more season, or two, but then I'll have to replace it. I think they are worth the money. Merino is a great alternative, though.
