I'm a fan of capes and ponchos so I think this looks nice on you, especially with the colors you styled it with (some of my favorite colors).

I'm with you on wearing it with a gray boot that's got a bit more of a pointy toe and heel, though. The "full on top and slim on the bottom" look that ponchos create I think is both comfortable and flattering.

I have soft spot for ponchos. I bet this would look great without scarf too. Or, how about trying the scarf looped around the neck, so that it still bookends the pants, but exposes even more of the poncho?

I love it as is. I would totally wear it, in fact. I would probably keep the shoes and pants the same color to lengthen the line but that's just me. You look terrific. Sassy and cute!

I call those flying squirrel sweaters Aren't they fun to wear?

I almost bought a black one that was a little similar at Nordstrom Rack, but it had a pull.

I was thinking I'd wear it with tighter pants underneath, or skirt/leggings combo that echoed the boxyness. I thought maybe that since it's such a statement piece my best bet was to showcase it and go a little avant garde/minimalist, and not wear it quite like a conventional sweater.

I like the color combo you have picked, and the boots you describe might work great.

I like it. I mean it's a poncho, it's not supposed to show your figure. But this looks sassy and fashionforward and fun, and it doesn't overwhelm you. I take it back, I don't like it - I kind of love it actually.

A few days ago I wore a shorter grey striped poncho which I loved the size and proportion of... I bought that one and the one for today's post both off Ebay... When I saw this one that was marked a S/M I wondered about it being too oversized and in my first attempt to style it, my 18 year old son told me it didn't do a thing to for me... i have to say I rather felt like Rosie Odonell it , but was willing to give it a go.. I added a scarf which is my trick to add a vertical line and that felt much better...So, what do you think is this too oversized or I am just not use to that silhouette?

I do think I could add two seams closer to my body ,but not too close, if I so desired... I actually think that may change my entire attitude towards this..

I hobbled outside to take these photos as I am having bad calf pain from the new Shaun T Rockin Body dance program I got the urge to do in my bare feet..(hubby was asleep and I didn't want to wake him to dig out my tennis shoes... and it was all low impact stuff) I only mention this as an explanation for why I didn't go back and get a photo with my arms both down for a better view and I also would have worn more pointed toe grey booties with 3.1/2 inch heels if it hadn't been for the fact that I can barely walk as it is...
