What is it with all the itchy sweaters and scarves lately? For a while I thought it was just because of my aging skin, but I suspect if I still had those decades old cashmere sweaters I bought in London they wouldn't itch now as they didn't itch then. (I had a cat that wanted to be a fur collar--hard on sweaters. Otherwise I suspect I'd still have them.)

I hate itchy sweaters, and I wonder how on earth it is that labels known for good quality (like JCREW) can make such a thing.

Thanks, Gigi!
Yes, the intarsia was raised—just assumed that was a sign of a bad join, not a design decision.
The itchiness was right at the front of the neck—one of those “prickle, prickle”, comfy, “prickle, prickle” comfy itches. If I had a high neck tank top it might not be an issue.
i tried putting a white collared shirt under it—a bit stuffed and wrinkly looking! Had not thought of a half-tuck, hmmm.
Thanks again for the feedback!

Aw... :(

I bought this sweater last year, and it's a good example of how online product pages never tell the full story. I think this sweater was designed to be kind of a T-shirt substitute, one that you can tuck or semituck, hence the lightweight material.

On mine, the intarsia heart was designed to be raised up off the sweater, and it has a different texture. I didn't notice bad joining to the rest of the sweater, but again, mine was bought last year so they might have taken shortcuts this year.

I'm glad you found something you liked at Talbot's, though!

ETA: The sweater did look cute on you. Did you try semitucking it? Or maybe it feels so itchy that you don't want to bother.

just sent the J Crew leopard heart sweater back today (cry a little tear). A bit itchy around the neck and cuffs, *very* thin, intarsia-knit heart (good!) has bulky, uneven join with rest of sweater (bad). Shows lumps & bumps.
Awfully darn cute, though.
Good news—Talbot’s Audrey cashmere: very soft, thin but substantial, print, but high quality color.
