Maybe for proportions: if the body is busy and ample, the head should be more tidy...?</p> <p><b>Liesbeth, Jane</b> lol, I actually find myself pretty lucky that I have freedom in what I wear for work. But I am also aware that I teach to young adulescent girls too, and the model one inadvertently becomes, especially if you are teaching about history, fiction, language, etc. I remember quite vividly a young Spanish teacher who mastered the scarf thing so skilfully... not to be superficial, but I think the way you dress has some sort of impact when you are in front of 40 young people every day.
