Thanks Sheila and Anne likes Red! I started to look at the Christine Scaman website. It's a lot to take in!

Sheila, I agree that it will take a few cycles to get my hair color correct. It will be fun to see what happens.

Staysfit, you look great! We're all so excited for you on this new stage of your journey!

Christine Scaman was mentioned above, but in case you're not familiar with her site, here's a link: http://www.12blueprints.com/li.....-not-pale/ Her descriptions can be fanciful and not for everyone (though how can you complain about being compared to a rainbow?), but her visuals are usually great. Scroll down to see her color equations--color combos for making outfits.

Also, about the hair being too dark or too warm (or both): it will probably take a few tries to get just right, especially as even short hair needs a few cycles to grow out. Don't expect to get everything perfect all at once--you'll go crazy or bankrupt, possibly both!

Lol, I always equate colors first with food too! And interesting to hear that your color analysis allowed you to as much eliminate what didn't as find what did in determining your season. More to ponder! And I can't wait to see the continuation of your journey...all of your time and study is paying great dividends!

Sheila, I agree that the dark jeans are wrong. I have been toying around with bleaching some of my jeans and dying them a light grey. Fortunately in my work, I can wear jeans if I want much of the time. I am in agreement with you about the hair. We will keep working at it until we get it right.

So much change so quickly can be daunting, but having YLF has been a great support!

The hair color looks really nice, as others have mentioned, it doesn't wash you out as much. And the outfit in #2 is smashing on you. The rich color of the boots really adds a lot, and the color near your face looks so flattering. Well done. I think you are really on your way to a New You.

Staysfit : I really really like the sweater combo and the boots.
The only thing I would change up would be the color of the pants.

My daughter is a light summer and the pallete is gorgeous ! Gorgeous ! Part of making it work is the low contrast factor. It just does not go that dark and when there is dark on a Lt. Summer - even eyeliner- your eye gets drawn to that. I think a pair of soft gray jeans would be great...

The challenge for her is pants and formal wear and being in a business environment without black and dark colors. But she does it and it suits her. When I saw her draping... true the Lt. Summer colors looked very good. BUT the darker colors, Burgundy, Navy, Black... were too much for her. Washed out her delicate coloring. Overpowered her... although that is a strong word.

On the haircolor... I like it. I am no expert but I feel It is a tad warm... there are some great pictures of Lt. SUmmer hair on Chrstine Scaman's pinterest boards. It is very hard to control hair color on gray hair. I know... I tried for 20 years and thru in the hat 3 years ago. All my attempts at Ash Brown were futile ....

Thanks everyone.

NZ Nicolas, I was told that eyes should stand out and sparkle. I was also told that a color is correct if it looks as though it changes and enhances the color of your eyes.

Caro in oz, I noticed right away that my skin looked clearer and brighter in these colors. It was very obvious in the color studio that the cool tones were much more flattering.

Shemarie. When my colors were being done there was some initial debate about whether I would be a light spring or a light summer. The drapes helped sort out the situation. Light spring had colors that were just wrong. Light summer didn't. There are some shared colors between the palates. There are no oranges in the summer palate. Regardless of whether you get color typed or not, It sounds like the Colors you have intuitively picked are lovely. I think the combination of warm raspberry and tangerine is beautiful, plus it makes me hungry thinking about it!

I've never had my colors done or been too strict about what I wear. I am drawn to certain colors, but also stick to a small palette for each season. I'm continuing to watch your progress as it's fascinating.
I love the shearling sweater and please do tell about winter white ponte pants...

You look fantastic! I've been waiting for this post. The hair looks great, but I guess only you can tell if it needs to be lighter IRL. Love the outfit, it's awesome. Both the colors and the look. Good to hear that some of your things worked and you found some items to tide you over. I think you can definitely work your existing pieces into your look until you can replace them bit by bit. Not wearing the worst colors is a good idea though!

Love the hair and that periwinkle is gorgeous! You look great...very bright and glowing! Thanks for sharing your color adventure...soooooo interesting and I'm learning so much vicariously through you. My coloring is really quite similar, and I've only recently begun w/highlights to cover the greys in my natural "dark strawberry blondish" hear. Needless to say, your color revelation is giving me lots to think about! I've always know I'm NOT an autumn, even though that's what I've always been told/thought I "should" be. I guessed that, by default, then, that I must be a light spring, but now you have me wondering! My default colors have always been periwinkle, ivory/winter white, warm raspberry, coral, and oddly, a neonish tangerine. Now I'm excited to see how you construct your new wardrobe and adapt older pieces, so I'll be following with interest!

I know they are just photos but the thing I notice is your skin tone, it looks much "smoother & clearer" in these pics. The blue is lovely on you & doesn't overwhelm you like some of the darker outfits did. Are you happy with the results so far?

I've been looking forward to the next installment of your new look. I really like the idea of authenticity - embracing who you are and finding colours that harmonise with the real you. I noticed your eyes straight away with that beautiful periwinkle. That's got to be good, right?

Your hair looks richer in color and healthy and it really brightens your face. It's lovely! I might be a bit partial since it's close to my color now. :) I can imagine raspberry red looking great on you, too.

Sarah, thanks for following my style journey which has become a bit more of an adventure than I originally anticipated You are apparently correct to say that my hair is the same amount of darkness as it was before. The only difference as my hairdresser explained is a shift in the colors from warm to cool. She kept the "level" exactly the same. If it looks darker it is because there is there is less warm gold to reflect light. I am not entirely certain I understood her, so perhaps someone who better understands how hair color works can weigh in here?

You raise such an interesting point. My actual natural color at this time is gray!! :-) To get a good sense of my previous natural hair color I have to look at my HS senior pic. My natural color is possibly about the same darkness as my current color, The main difference is I have more brown in my natural color and more ash blond in my present color. I definitely have ash blond highlights in my natural color. In another week or two the color on my head may fade. It always looks different after a week or two of washing, etc.

I think the new hair color looks great. And you look smashing in that periwinkle sweater! I can't wait to see your new outfits now that you have swatches in hand. It's sure a change from your soft autumn palette...a very different feel.
