Thanks ladies! I am indeed still very excited about the whole experience.

Nicole, you are actually right, and I may not have phrased my original question clearly; when I said I am thinking about taking the jacket in at the waist, I did mean all the way down from the waist in order to remove the flare. I might pin it back and take photos for comparison later.

The CM dress and the Angie blouse are absolutely dreamy!
I love all the other things you got too. What a successful shopping day Tanya! You must be sitting at home now, a few days after the facts, looking in amazement at all those wonderful clothes;-)

Tanya, I love the less fitted tops on you. There appears to be 3 of them that are not as form fitting, and I think they look awesome! You really do have the perfect body for showcasing clothes.

I love the vest. The only thing I"m not crazy about is the jacket. I'd be afraid that taking in at the waist would emphasize the flare at the hem. You'd have to take it in all the way down, not just at the waist. I'd ask your tailor before removing the tags.

Thank you all very much! I am still super excited.

Shiny, this particular CM store is in the Galleria Mall, but there is a bigger one in Prudential too. My total was actually $180, but with the gift card I ended up paying $80.

Ana, yep, the Angie top does tie at the neck, bow or knot or whatever you want. I really like your outfit idea ( although it's too cold for it now). I don't have red shoes that are tall enough - those jeans are hemmed for 3-3.5 " heels and the only red shoes I have are 2", but I will be looking.

Great finds! I love them all, as you probably know. I'm glad you don't have to get the jacket altered. I was thinking about it last night, and maybe you could try a bit drapier top underneath with jeans as well. I think that could be a cute look. Does the Angie top tie in a bow at the neck? Have you tried it under the jacket? Maybe you could try it with your Rich and Skinny wide leg jeans and some red shoes.

Thanks Lena! I would have kept the jacket anyway (all the sales were final) but wasn't sure if it needed the waist alteration. I can't wait for the weather to get warmer so that I can start wearing it.

Thank you all again!

Brianna, I think I know which SS grey top you are talking about. It was knitted, lighter grey and has sort of fluttery sleeves? I really wanted it , but they didn't have it in XS in this store. They didn't have cashmere sweaters either. I saw that patent tote, and it is gorgeous, but i was trying to stay away from more patent bags, I have quite a few of them.

I hope that your Zara turtlenecks will hold up well.

What a great shopping day! My absolute favourites are the striped turtle and the Angie blouse. I love the volume on the grey silk top, too.

I was at CM today too and got a plain black cashmere V-neck for $29.99. New markdowns were in progress as I was in the store--the sweater went from $99 to $29 as I was shopping! I got a sweet grey SS top with ruffles at the neckline too. I wanted to try that same striped turtleneck that you got but they only had it in XS. I'm still considering a black cracked patent zippered bag with tote handles and a cross-body strap that was $69 (down from $279, I think). Did you see that at your store?

I also got 2 cashmere turtlenecks at Zara for $49 each. We'll see how they hold up--they're going to see a lot of wear, that's for sure.

Wow, amazing shopping day indeed! I'm glad it was so much fun for you because you really didn't get much while you were in NY and it's always nice to go on a shopping spree right before a shopping ban.

I also think the jacket is nice the way it is, but might be even better with a pinch here and there.

The voluminous top looks great. Good for you for stepping outside your box.

It was an amazing shopping trip. You have found some beautiful pieces.
The proof in whether the striped jacket works will be in the outfits you make with it. It is very pretty but I did notice a swoop at the bottom. I'll be curious to hear what Angie says.
I received a pkg with some things I ordered and one was a white button down. I am going to try it on now, but in just picking it up for a look I see that it has quite a swoop to the bottom of it. Maybe it is a look the designers have in mind. I doubt it will work for me, but you it may work for.

What a fantastic shopping day! I LOVE the Angie top-- I'm drooling too. I like seeing you in the voluminous top. It looks great on you as is and will also work with a fitted cardigan for warmth. I'm on the fence about the blazer. I think it's fine and it's supposed to sweep out like that but I'm not completely confident about it. And I can't wait to see your waistcoat outfits!

I went to the mall on Saturday, mainly because I have just received a very generous gift card for Club Monaco from my BFF - a very late Xmas gift ( we haven't seen each other for two months). I absolutely adore CM, but at full price they tend to be out of my comfort zone, so the gift card was a special treat.

It turned out that they had an absolutely amazing sale going on, some items marked down as much as 80-90 % off their original price. I also found some similarly amazing deals in other stores, so this turned out to be probably the best shopping day of my life. For those who prefer a single link to the whole album, here it is:

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....rr/020709/

So, I ended up getting 7 items at CM, for which after sales, student discount and my gift card I ended up paying the grand total of $80, while the original prices added to about $800!

1. White cotton summer dress

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3964.jpg

I actually had a white sundress on my spring list! I don't know if this qualifies as a sundress, probably not - I think of sundresses as ones with straps or halter style, but anyway, it will serve the purpose.

2. White/black striped blazer

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3965.jpg

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3967.jpg

This is actually the only item that I have a question on: Should I have it taken in at the waist? It has a little part that sticks out like a peplum, and I don't know if it is intentional. It looks OK with the dress, but sticks out with jeans.

3. Cute white knitted top - it has a small keyhole opening that ties at the neck in the back

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3968.jpg

4. Black wool striped turtleneck

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3971.jpg

5. Grey silk top - this is my 'stepping out of the box' item - it's quite voluminous and should work with clamdiggers. I normally go for waist defining styles, so decided to try something new.

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3974.jpg

6. Blue color block top

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3975.jpg

7. White silk blouse, which happens to be named 'Angie', that I have been drooling over for months:

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3976.jpg

I also had great luck at the other Canadian store, Jacob ( I love Canadian stores!), where I found these :

8. Black/cream striped SS wool sweater

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3979.jpg

9. Charcoal cowl neck top, it actually has a very cute origami detail that you can not see because my arm covers it in the photo:

http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3980.jpg

I found the perfect black wool-blend waist coat at H&M, similar style to Maya's:

10. http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3981.jpg

And finally, another incredible deal, this time at Benetton, a very soft cashmere purple cardi, marked down to $25, from originally over $200:

11. http://s300.photobucket.com/al.....CN3978.jpg

I am still flying high from this incredible day. I will not be shopping for a while after this, but it was so worth it. I am still waiting for some things I ordered online before this shopping trip.
