(side note: people get snobby about this part of the city which has replaced the Plateau as the hip place to live. The snobs pronounce it with nasals and stretching the "end" at the end, so much so that my poor son who was studying in Montreal heard all these people go, Je vis (I live) dans (in) le Mile-End (which he though they were saying in "My Land" lol).&nbsp;<br />Anyway, your best bet is to go early on a Sunday morning or during a week day, because it gets full at peak hours and there are no parking spots left. And I got the high-rise-wide-leg cropped denim I had been searching for.</p> <p>My cousin brought me to a store that looks like a warehouse in the Mile End called "Jeans, jeans, jeans". I have now decided that from now on I am shopping my jeans there. They had a lot of cotton denim too, but as soon as I put one pair on me I was overtaken by a horrendous flash back from my teens: that scratchy, hot feeling of heavy cotton squeezing my thighs and digging into my waist. They drape just the right way, they fit perfect on hips and waist, they are super comfy. I tried them with clogs and a pair of t-strap low heel shoes I had bought earlier this year which compliments them surprisingly well. I wore them yesterday and couldn't take them off.</p> <p>3-4: This funky pair from Mavi jeans (CAN 70$), called Anika freyed hem (<a rel="nofollow" href="https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/mavi-jeans-anika-frayed-hem-cropped-jeans-bleach-vintage/4958532">https://shop.nordstrom.com/s/m.....ge/4958532</a>). They are stretchy and comfortable to me and I like the challenge the extreme freying creates regarding footwear and proportion. Here with Dansko Mary-Jane clogs, because of my toe, but can't wait for it to heal a little more and get stacked heeled mules. I think I will have fun with those jeans.</p> <p>5: I also shopped in Old Montreal and got this little summer cap by Canadian Hat (Uncas)</p> <p>6-7: And another one because I figured I would be taking many lonely walks as I always do when I reevaluate my life like I am doing now, and the sun will be out soon.
