Yes it does feel lighter and releasing. I was holding on to many old items. The biggest thing was toppers - loads of them which were all very short. I had read one of Angie's posts that today's styles are somewhat longer. That helped me rid the closet of many items when they could not pass the measurement test.&nbsp;<br />Peri, I do need new items but I have been in a buy and return state since joining YLF. I tracked this over the last 8 months and the returns are staggering.&nbsp;<br />I think that is because I am totally clueless with style and fashion. I am hoping to put together a list of basics and find a good place to buy them. I need a bag, some shoes, a dress. The shoes and bag are MOTG casual. This was not a baby purge - it was the motherload. I have never been so brutal.&nbsp;&nbsp;It was long and arduous. At the start it was pretty easy but it got progressively more and&nbsp;more difficult. So many doubts, feelings of wastefullness crept in, should I save it for later, worked hard to pay for these items, are they dated?&nbsp;I ended up going to the original thread and writing down all of the tips and taping them on the wall. I started taking photos of the ? to ask the YLF if they were keepers.&nbsp;&nbsp;I reminded myself&nbsp;that others might find happiness from these items. I felt like I was a hoarder at one point.<br />I took a long break and then went back at it. <br />When I got back to it,&nbsp;I realized I don't want to keep handling all of these items that&nbsp;that I will not wear. It takes time and energy - it gets in your head.&nbsp;&nbsp;Those items went right back to the toss pile, including all of the "should I keep" items. In fact, I did not post a single should I keep. I decided if I need to ask that, I need to purge it because it didn't make my list.&nbsp;<br />At the end I had 7 large green garbage bags. I went through all seasons, shoes, bags, workout gear, jewelry,&nbsp;the lot. I didn't do winter outwear. I did keep one box of items that I still like but the fit wasn't quite right (thanks for that tip).<br />So a huge hug and thank you to all of those who helped me - it was truly a huge help.<br />
