Of course the cocoon style is an even more exaggerated version of that, so they poof out and then cup under. This can work great as just a style trend but when it's too exaggerated it doesn't look good. If the color and pattern are just spectacular for your goals, you might be able to have alterations done as suggested. Or just say "next". I agree with Una that there is a bit of a firecracker effect, which is fun. You could always order it to try. I think it's the kind of thing that needs to be tried on to truly evaluate. I think it might work with an alteration, but the test will really be when I get it home. There is a full-length mirror at the ranch, but the light is really dim in that room, so it's hard to get any kind of usable photo. Gryffin, the colors are quite true to the stock photos -- some reds and blues in with the white and black pattern. It *might* be a lot of pattern to some eyes, but I think the limited color palette might keep it from seeming like TOO much, if you know what I mean.  The only thing that gives me pause about the fit from the front is that the pocket flaps seem to hit right at my high hip line -- I wonder what that will do if the jacket is altered. It's a lovely fabric, and I like the print. It seems like it would be great with jeans and lots of other options. The questionable: I'm not sure the cut works for me. I think it might be too straight or better for an apple/IT, but I'll have to take it home with me in a couple of weeks, try styling it, and take photos there to be sure. There is not a good mirror/light/photo situation here at the ranch. It looks pretty good from the front, I think, but when I turn to the side, there seems to be a lot of extra fabric in the back which makes it poof out in the middle of my back and then it comes in again where the fit gets closer to my hips. I wonder if it could be altered a bit to make the fit slightly less bulky back there. It's not big across the back at my shoulders or the armpit, it's lower, across the waist. Any thoughts on that kind of alteration? But for anyone considering this jacket, sizing definitely runs just a little generous. As a typical size 6 or 8 in tops, a S works for me.
