So I've decided -more or less- what I'll do. I'll keep the lighter jacket for sure, and wait for 10 days and see if I want to keep the darker one too. I like that the darker looks more polished, like, I don't know, the surface is softer, and with less blemishes because it's darker. But it's true it wouldn't work so well with my wardrobe. Also, I was drawn to the lighter one from the first moment, and then though about trying out the darker one too, so this must be a sign, right?

The lighter one immediately grabbed me -- that's the winner!

IMHO, you should only keep the one, because as Tarzy said, darker leather jackets abound, and if you decide you want another in a darker color, you may want some variety in style. That's been my experience with jackets. For instance, you may realize you could use one in a longer length, or one that zips instead of buttons, etc.

Echo everything Tarzy said! I like the lighter one better; I think it's a good deal for the darker one, but if you don't NEED it right now I would wait for a different styled dark jacket to come along. If you LOVE both and can afford it, I don't see why you couldn't keep both but I have a feeling you'd get more wear from just one (the light one!)

If you keep just one, I vote for the lighter one. These can be worn all year. Remember how Angie wears a leather jacket under a winter coat in cold weather and keeps it on inside as part of her outfit? You could do that with these jackets so don't think of them only as outerwear.

If you will get a lot of wear out of both of them, I would keep both! However, if you tend to play favorites, I would keep the lighter one. There are some items that I duplicate and wear both frequently, and other that I duplicate and wear one a lot more than the other one. It can be hard to predict. Also, it sounds like you've got some boot shopping ahead of you. Maybe the 30 euro from one of the jackets could be put towards your new boots, and buying the perfect pair that might be a bit more expensive that you might otherwise be willing to spend? Lots to consider, but I don't think that you can go wrong no matter what decision you make!

Wow. Tough choice! If you love this style, I would keep the lighter one. You probably will be able to find a different dark brown jacket easily. While I'm big on duplication when I find a style I love, I think a leather jacket might be something you'd want to be a bit more unique? And if you wear black boots a lot, maybe the dark brown won't be as useful? (However, you probably can't go wrong if you can afford to, and want to keep both.)

Gosh, I SO want to keep the two of them! lol I already have the same winter coat twice (one is in camel, and I bought the second one during sales for 20 euros (it cost 70) in black too, but I already knew it would work in my wardrobe because I had tested the camel one for like two or three months). It doesn't bother me at all to have it repeated because it fits me well and it's a classic wool coat with military tendencies (yet very subtle), simple lines and nothing too extreme so that people actually notice I always wear the same coat.

April, I think it does flatter my complexion. Actually, too dark or too light colors (like black or pale yellow or nude) look awful on me. This is a sort of a dark orangey browny yellow color (does that even make sense?), and warmer and/or brighter shades actually flatter my skin-tone. It's the color of autumn leaves.

Hmm -- tough call. I can see why you and your mum are having trouble. It's hard to judge your coloring with the light behind you, but does the light-colored one flatter your complexion? If so, I would go with it, solely because it's a less typical leather jacket than the deeper brown. You'll see a zillion black and brown leathers, but the caramel color is more special. (I think it's also harder to wear, hence my question about coloring...)

So you asked me to post pictures of myself wearing the jackets, so there I go!

For those who didn't read the first post, this is about me buying the same jacket twice in two different shades so mum could help me decide when I got home and so I could return one of them. Problem is, mum likes both of them equally, and so do I. However, I do think the lighter one might suit my wardrobe better. Let's see what you guys think!

This would be a typical fall/winter outfit on my casual me. Skinnies + knit top + riding boots. I actually have to buy another pair of boots because those Clarks kill my feet like nobody, and I've worn them for two years, I think I've paid with my suffering already. I don't know what color the new ones will be. I don't even know for sure if I'll be able to find a new pair of well-fitting boots :(

The knit top is actually a deep purple, riding boots are black.

I think I like the lighter one better, but I'm also influenced by the black boots, which look totally off to me with darker browns. On the other hand, the darker brown is slimming.
