Lisa, the straps are the same floral material as the rest of the bag. I just read the BoF article - it'll be interesting to see the new collection. To be honest I feel like KS is often a bit too preppy for me (this bag notwithstanding) but it sounds as if the new label will have a bit more urban aesthetic. (Although mostly shoes prob means my wallet is safe as my fussy feet don't do well in heels and such.) Sterling, I'm glad this was helpful! Good luck in your tote hunt. I think this bag is the largest that ks makes - at least this style was the biggest one in the b&m store. Have you looked at MZ Wallace? The Chelsea tote comes in a regular (about this size, but a bit deeper) and also a ginormous weekender size that you might like. They do some gorgeous prints on occasion. Here's a little review for Sterling and others who were interested in this bag. The print is lovely and very vibrant. (My photos are taken at night so not the best indication of the colors but you get the idea.) Material is coated canvas if some sort, very shiny and seems very durable. The background is black, not navy, unlike all the other bags I saw in this print. I'm fine with either so it's not a problem for me. It's pretty big, around the same size as my large longchamp le pliage (they're side by side in the last pic). It'll fit my 13" MacBook fine but my old 15" one doesn't really want to fit nicely. (I can cram it into the longchamp only because that bag is a lot floppier.). The material is nice and quite structured - it'll stand up nicely on its own, unlike the longchamp. Straps are a little shorter, possibly a little tight over a big winter coat but fine for me otherwise. The zip doesn't extend all the way to the corners, which is slightly annoying but just means I will have to use a different bag if it rains. It's fine for keeping stuff from falling out and preventing thieves from reaching in, which are my primary concerns.
