I really like all of my Diane Gilman Jeans and they are sold on HSN. She sells skinnies, straight, boot, plain, patterned, colored. Something for everyone and they come in short, average or tall which is great for me because I am only 5' tall.

Wow. I had no idea about the dryer. Good to know! I will stop doing that.

I honestly kind of want something that has a higher back rise and lower front rise. I end up wearing my current jeans (which I believe are considered mid-rise) at my navel because they get saggy, and that seems to be a way to make the crotch look better. I will try some of the brands you ladies have mentioned. Thanks again!

Hm, yeah, if you prefer your front rise to be at your navel, then I'd try NYDJ for sure. They always have a bunch on discount at Nordstrom Rack (at least the one near me). You might also try a high rise Hudson style - I wear their low rise, but I also have a small difference between waistband and hip measurements, and their cuts work for me.

I also agree with Desmo April re: drying jeans. The dryer is so hard on denim IMO. I spot clean and then freeze my denim to disinfect and freshen.

ETA: I'd recommend trying as many styles on in store as possible. Once you find the right cut, you can wait for deals on Ebay, Myhabit, Amazon, et cetera. But to try to find the perfect one thrifting when you don't have access to all sizes could be a long and frustrating process.

Do your current jeans have any Lycra content for stretch? Putting them in the dryer just accelerates the tighten/bag out process. Once I stopped drying my jeans I found that they hold their shape much better.

I know some people air-dry and then pop the jeans back in the dryer for a few minutes to soften them up. I don't--mainly because I use a coin op dryer--I find they soften up from body heat in a few minutes.

Do you have a new york and company near you? I know, we don't ever mention that brand here but I find their clothes really flattering for apples and hourglasses. My mom is a very sharp dresser and swears by them. She is very pronounced hourglass.

If you're in the US you can get NYDJ (and others) on Zappos with free delivery and free returns, so it's a handy way for busy moms to shop, and a risk-free way to try several brands or styles.

Nordstrom has free delivery and returns, too, but the turn-around time is longer.

I'm not much help with apples, but here's a link to Angie's store and each jeans has the body types listed below it. It might be a helpful start
http://youlookfab.com/store/ca.....ing/jeans/

Thrifting would take time - you'd need to take all possbilities into a dressing room and try - you never know by looking - especially if any alterations might have been done.

You might have to work at finding a chunk of time to go alone, but maybe, on a weekend, if your DH is willing . . .

ETA: I *think* some of our apples have been happy with the pull-on Jag Jeans. Here's all the Jags at Nordstroms. You can see the variety of pull-on styles has become very successful!
http://shop.nordstrom.com/sr?k.....wordsearch

Thanks. I will have to try those. I don't mind going and trying some on, but it's easier if I have a direction to go in. There are just so many brands out there, and I can only be away from my baby for small chunks of time at this point.

Have you tried Not Your Daughter's Jeans?
I don't have much difference between my high hip and regular hip measurement, either, and they work well for me. They don't dig in at the top and create a muffin top.

I hate to say it, but you are probably going to have to just keep trying pairs on. Fit is SO individual with jeans that even someone with exact same measurement will likely have different fit issues, and their perfect pair may not be your pair. Perhaps a somewhat lower rise would be a good place to start, since your waist isn't much smaller than your hips. And stretch will help with ease in the tight places, and bring in the gappier spots closer :)

EDIT: another thought - have ever tried on men's jeans to accommodate for a more straight up and down fit?

I am really frustrated with jeans right now. As a SAHM of four I just don't have the time to be out trying on jeans all the time. I would love to hear your recommendations for jeans (preferably under $100--or even over and maybe I can find some thrifted).

Here's my problem. I have just recently fit back into my pre-pregnancy levi's. (Yay!) They fit great right out of the dryer (though a little snug in the waist). By the time I've worn them a few hours, they are about perfect in the waist and thighs but saggy through the hip, butt, and crotch.

Measurements:
Natural waist (about a palm width above my navel)-33-34 inches
At navel-39 inches (where I usually wear my levi's classic rise jeans)
Hips-41 inches
Thighs-24.5 inches
Rise (to navel)-10-11 inches

So only 2 inch difference between my hips and where I wear the waist of my jeans, and kind of a flat butt, but pretty full thighs. I'm sure I'm rambling here.
