I am quite short waisted and all legs. I find that high waisted skirts and pants don't really work for me, as they are all the way up to my ribs...v. uncomfortable. </p> <p>I think you are on target with your alterations. A white jeans shopping spree ensued, with the following results.</p> <p>Angie recommended Kut from the Kloth, but as Lisa confirmed, they were not available in my size. :(</p> <p>Zapotee recommended American Eagle, which were both available in my size and on sale. I ordered, they arrived, but the rise is too low for me. (This tells me something about my body shape: I am high-waisted and short-waisted.) The good news from AE is that I got a cropped white denim jacket as well and will be keeping that. :)</p> <p>Sarah recommended J Crew high-waist skinnies as being more of a straight leg and also not needing to be sized up. Good news, since they were on sale (final sale -- what is up with J Crew) and only available in my size. They came, and I love them! They need to be hemmed, and maybe to be taken in slightly at the waist.</p> <p>MaryK and Glory recommended Gap, and a pair of Long and Lean white jeans were here when I got home last night. Tried them on and love these too. Also need hemming and maybe a waist nip.</p> <p>I am now well sorted, ladies! Thank you so much for these recommendations.
