Like Claudia I don't use shampoo. Only cheap VO5 conditioner (with no silicones!) to wash my scalp. My hair is naturally curly, so even with no sulfates and silicones I still have to watch out for the frizzy. My go to product is AG re:coil curl activator. It gives my really well shaped curls. I follow that up with some gel.

AnnieMouse, I went shampooless for over a year just using conditioner to scrub my scalp and wash my hair after reading some bloggers and articles about the benefits. My hair looked and felt fantastic, shiny, clean and full of body with no brittle or damaged ends as my hair grew out. I was then given a bottle of WEN Cleansing Conditioner, and I am going on 5 years now I think without regular shampoo touching my head. I don't plan on ever using shampoo again because switching away from it worked so well for my hair.

When I started bleaching and colouring my hair with Wacky Colours, I stopped washing my hair. I know! It sounds disgusting!

But thing is - because of the texture of the bleached hair, I also never use product anymore. So when I get in the shower, I scrub my scalp with water (just as though I were washing it, just without any shampoo) and then I condition with a conditioning mix I've made (I use a combo of protein filler, various fixatives, conditioning treatments, and a bit of the current dye colour. I mix a batch about once a month). If I'm feeling REALLY manky, I use a bit of baking soda and give myself a vinegar rinse when I'm all done.

After I've towelled off, I spritz the whole head with some of this argan oil , and then go on about my day.

I was really terrified of the idea of going shampooless, but at this point, I can't imagine going back to using it anymore.

My stepmom's a hairdresser and got my sister and me hooked on Aveda shampoos/conditioners. I use Brilliant most days and use Scalp Benefits once a week - no more dry, itchy, scaly scalp (which laughed in the face of dandruff shampoos).

Bumble & Bumble Sumotech is still my fave wax-type product for texture/separation.

Oh! And my Maxiglide hair straightener! For those who cannot be bothered to brush/section and straighten.

On the same page as Anna with the no sulfate l'Oreal products. Very kind to my dry hair. I also like the Nuance Selma Hayek Meadowfoam leave-in conditioner as a styling/finishing product and find that the heat protection of the Tresemme Thermal Creation styling spray also helps.

Before my hair started falling out I loved Aveda Chamomile Shampoo, it really does bring out the blonde on the first day. Then the environment/commercial kitchen takes over and it starts looking dark again. I wash my hair every other day because it's fairly dry.

Now I am using Nioxin #2 for "noticeably thinning hair." Both cleanser and conditioner. Since starting on it in early October, I haven't had a major episode of hair loss again. My hairdresser thinks it might be mental -- that the product allows me not to worry and stress about hair loss all the time.

I also like Paul Mitchell hair spray, the not-so-strong hold is enough for my wisps.

I have tried some shampoo from L'Occitane and am thinking of re-purchasing because I like the way they smell. For that matter many of their products smell and feel great!

I use Matrix color care shampoo & conditioner for my fine color processed hair. I like Bumble and Bumble styling creme for the days when I let my hair air dry and I just want a some definition to the waves. To tame the dry frizzies I put in Spectrum Organic Coconut Oil at night (this stuff smells delicious)...give it a wash the next day and no frizzies.

The only hair product I've been loyal to is Sebastian Potion #9, a leave-in conditioner. Gives curl definition without stiffness and tames frizz. Been using it for 10 years, but it is hard to find in my town. I like The Aveda shampoo for red hair, but have to remember to pick it up when I'm in the Big City since there is no distributor here.

John Frieda Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner, bumble and bumble styling cream with a little Red kin Antisnap mixed in, and bumble and bumble briliantine to style. I've got some other products that I use when I'm doing something different with my hair, but those are the regulars.

Anyone have a dry shampoo they love? The Suave one I've tried is decent but not amazing.

I am hooked on ridiculously spendy Jellua Squid Ink shampoo and repair creme. It's from Korea (I'm not Korean but am 1/2Japanese so I have Asian hair.) The shampoo is dark charcoal colored gel and the creme is a similar color but thicker. I love the smell and it leaves my hair super shiny. I color my hair (a chocolate eggplant color) and the color really lasts. A friend who is blonde also uses it and says it does not affect her hair color. It costs $42 for a 32oz bottle but lasts forever. I get thru my nail salon as the owner gets it wholesale from a supply co. and she doesn't upcharge me. It leaves my hair soft but with a lot of body. And so far, much less winter static than most other products.

Oooh, I'll play. I've been wanting to try Perfect Hair Day, so thanks for the review!

My holy grail styling products for fine, mostly straight hair:
- Aquage uplifting foam, for any length. Adds volume at the roots without gunking up the hair.
- Aquage transforming paste, for pixie cuts. Great for shaping and piecing out the ends.
- Paul Mitchell smoothing serum, for blowouts and straightened styles. Smells fantastic and makes my hair shinier and easier to blowdry.

I've been using Redken shampoos and conditioners for almost a year and have been very pleased. I've repurchased several times, which is saying something! :)

At 51, I've finally discovered the Holy Grail of hair products! I've been using Living Proof shampoo and conditioner- the "full" line- and love how my hair feels. I tried 2 of the styling products but wasn't super impressed. Then I got a newer, multi purpose styling cream called PHD (perfect hair day!) and I love it. No more frizzies, easy to style and it leaves my hair silky. But I wanted just a bit more volume. Enter the root lift spray and voila...great lift and movement without stickiness.

I've never been happier with my hair...I like the shorter cut I got recently and now it's a pleasure to style it too.

How about you...have you found the perfect products?

(starting another post for cosmetic products)
