They're a little odd but I kept them. They don't hang all the way into my crotch, though. I"ve tried tucking it up and it keeps wanting to fall down. I can try Srujana's idea of making 2 bows so that the string doesn't hang down quite as low. And it looks like eliminating the string altogeher would detract from the vibe of the shirt. Can you knot a bit snugger and then tuck the strings up into the shirt?
