I know I havent' been good about getting pictures up lately. My mornings have just been more rushed for some reason.
Elly... haha, that would totally be me.
I'm glad to know I won't ruin the vibe of the shirt by cutting the strings a bit shorter. I'll investigate just how much I need to cut off.

Hmmm . . . I have several pieces with "bothersome drawstrings" although I am not sure my solution is a solution at all. I tend to accidentally tuck them into my undies when I use the loo and then look embarrassed later when I sit or move and they pull and I have to fish them out of my panties to complete said sitting motion without injuring myself. Perhaps I should put more thought into this!

Yep, put scissors in my hands and I cut everything in sight!

Seriously, I always knot and cut those off...they drive me nuts and I don't like the way they look hanging...ever!

I have a cashmere zip cardigan twinset with those at the bottom. They're a little odd but I kept them. They don't hang all the way into my crotch, though. If so, I'd trim them to hit around the base of the zipper placket area.

ETA: here's a pic of what mine look like

I am scissor-happy. Cut the strings as short as possible and then tuck them under.

Ahem, I need a visual to see what's going on. LOL--where are your WIW's, Miss Kim. I'm going through withdrawal over here.

Don't know about the ties. Those kind of little things drive me batty. I'm sure someone will chime in with a solution!

well, the drawstring is necessary to pull the bottom of the blouse fitted around the hips. I"ve tried tucking it up and it keeps wanting to fall down. I can try Srujana's idea of making 2 bows so that the string doesn't hang down quite as low. Or, I could always shorten it a bit so that it doesn't hang down quite as low.

I've not worn one of these for years, but used to tuck the strings up under the drawstring if they didn't look right. They seemed to stay put for me.

I think it looks sporty, like the ties on a windbreaker. Around the neck would look more 70s to me. Will you be cinching the waistline? Another thing I do is stretch them out so they get sucked into the garment (again, with a knot at the very end so I can retrieve the pesky things if I need to).

Umm..it would bother me a bit too. And it looks like eliminating the string altogeher would detract from the vibe of the shirt. Can you knot a bit snugger and then tuck the strings up into the shirt? Or do a couple of bows together (so you have four loops instead of two) so that you take up a lot more of the slack?

I could cut it a bit shorter, but I'm not sure if the drawstring is supposed to add visual interest or what....Is this supposed to be a trend to go with the 70's revival this year? Here is another one...

I hate strings hanging around, both on tops and on pants that button (WHY the drawstring)? Are you willing to cut and knot?

I bought this blouse and while I still need to get a picture to submit for official YLF approval, I was thinking of wearing it today and wasn't sure what to do with the little strings that hang down to my crotch. I checked it out on the website and the model has the strings hanging, but hers don't seem as noticable and long. Is this something that would bother anybody else, or am I just being too picky when I look in the mirror.
