I wish I could use you for inspiration since I have also been trying to grow my hair and had hoped it would be long enough to pull back by summertime. It’s currently at a hard to style awkward length. There is no way to pull it back. I forgot how thick and unruly my hair becomes when it’s more than a few inches long. I have been growing my pixie out since last summer and getting it to one length has been the most difficult since my original pixie was all choppy layers. Luckily my hair does grow fast and right now have been cutting a bit more on the bottom to get the layers to catch up.
