GaSu- thanks for posting that link. I don't know how I missed that site, but it has a ton of great info! I loved the video on coupon binders. I think that I am going to have to set one up now.

Marianna- it is overwhelming at first, but it's really worth it. I would suggest you start getting the Sunday paper and saving the whole coupon insert. Mark the date on the cover and keep them all in one place. Read the forums at the website and see if you start getting a feel for it. After a month of saving the coupon inserts and reading messages, start your free month trial. If you're still feeling overwhelmed by it- just pick a single grocery store and concentrate on items that you already regularly purchase and know you will use. I think that would be an easier way to get into it.

I did look into it but I think I became overwhelmed and never pursued it... not exactly sure why. I need to investigate further as I could *really* use some savings right about now.

Michelle- I think you will like it if you can get the lists to work for you.

I just finished my four week trial, and I saved about $80 for the month BUT I got so much more for less money! I now have a small stockpile of toiletries, non-perishibles, and emergency items that I am going to work at growing for the next few months. I've decided to keep two grocery stores and two drug stores while I work on my stockpile. My husband pointed out that right near my favorite Super Target are these four list stores, so I can hit them all in a single trip.

Ana- it would be a good idea for you to start a price book to compare. I have one grocery store that is really cheap where I do my non-list shopping. Sometimes they have a better price than my GG deals, but not always. The list prices, when they are blue are considered to be better prices than warehouse stores like Costco. I have found that Costco's prices on many things are higher than my regular grocery store. The creater of Grocery Games says that she still buys her milk, cheese and butter at Costco.

Hmm, I may look into it. I always like to save money on groceries. We buy a lot of non-perishable stuff at Costco though.

So glad you are having fun with the game Chewy! How's it been going lately? Saving a bit more now? It is overwhelming at first, but you get on a roll after awhile. I'm about to go print my lists right now. I sloughed off last week because I took a last minute trip to Vegas.

Marianna, did you ever look into it? What did you think?

Shannon, I just wanted to thank you for bringing this up here. I had heard of this, even went and looked at the site before. There had been no free trial available at that time. I signed up for the free trial, and I am really loving it. I am learning more and more all the time, even though at first I was really overwhelmed. I've cut my grocery bill a little (well- this week by about $50), but we now have stockpiles of non perishable foods, toiletries and health items. I really get a kick of the checker's faces when they see my total. Anyone trying to save on their household bills should really check it out. You can do a free trial for a month. It's printable lists of the best grocery bargains by store in your local area. They match up the coupons to the sales to give you more bang for your buck, so all you have to do is pull the coupons for the products that you want and watch the savings add up.

Does anybody play "The Grocery Game"? Here's the link

http://www.thegrocerygame.com/

I just got back from Walgreens and bought the following

Gillette razor (not disposable) for my hubby
Gillette blades (4 pack)
Gillette body was for hubby
Gillette shave gel for hubby
Softsoap body wash
Conair hairbrush for daughter
Wet n Wild nail polish for daughter
Wet n Wild lipstick for daughter

All that came to $43.57. I spent $8.23 for everything! That's about 80% off. Wow! I just love to tell people that. I have saved more than that before. Once I purchased around $40 worth of products and spent $.40 on them. It's so much fun! I typically save around 50% at the grocery store. You should look into it. The money you save doing this could be spent on clothing and accessories. LOL!
