Oh my goodness, Ms M, that Theory jacket looks FANTASTIC on you. Whatever you know is happening to your middle (it's happening to mine, too, so I sympathize) it is completely invisible under that jacket--which would be reason enough to get it, but the color is extraordinary, and beautiful on you. Please keep it!

Love the blazer it’s great on you, and I think red can often work as a neutral anyway.

The hat is great too and lots of fun.

Wow! Thanks for the approval on the red jacket. With Angie giving her input, I'd better take the comments seriously. I rarely wear a fitted or semi-fitted jacket buttoned--never have.

At the start of the sale I wanted a nice black blazer, but that red!--and I haven't clipped the back vent nor have I steamed it, so it will look better, especially when I figure out what to wear with it. Just in the last year I've rediscovered red--I quit wearing it when I was a blonde.

I'll rethink the gray sweater and run it past DH later. I never finished the make-up, lipstick and blusher make a difference.

I started out wanting new ponte pants, but not in black, and gray knit makes me think of gray flannel, which I don't like to wear. I was so happy to find 2 different plaids!

I adore the hat on you and also the blazer. It's so amazing, I'm tempted to order it for myself, even though I lack your height and really have no need of it. But.

I have had apple tendencies my entire life (currently exercising a lot so I'm more rectangle, but still sensitive about my waist circumference). I actually think the red jacket looks great open (#4) -- I like to wear nipped-waist jackets to create the illusion of a smaller waist. BUT I agree it's too tight buttoned-up. Would you want the flexibility of wearing it closed, or can it function as an always-open blazer in your life?

The Theory blazer is KILLER. Ignore the light playing tricks on the velvet in the photos. It fits very well with the button open. I'm WOWED.

KUT pants and black pants are excellent, and fun hat too.

Fabulous Munro slip-ons - isn't their comfort AMAZING?

The Nik & Zoe pullover is very well made - and fits well. But the grey pattern was dull on everyone. You DO add pizzazz with your grey hair.

The hat is super cute! I actually prefer the skinnies to the pants, but could see keeping both. As for the jacket, it is a fab color, and I think the fit is fine on you. That said, I also tried it, and left it behind, because the length meant it would have been more limited in use for me. I think at that price point, you probably want it to be perfect. Maybe style it with a few more outfits to see if it truly deserves a place in your closet?

I’m going to start with the hat which is fab...as is the leopard shirt your wearing. Also like both pairs of pants-and I think you look terrific in skinny’s. I like the blazer, I think it fits well, and really like the shot of it open. Not as big a fan of the sweater, the color doesn’t seem to be doing you any favors

My NAS stuff so far. A few keepers, some going back that you won't see, and one Is there hope? And a resolution to quit fooling myself and stop taking in so many carbs.

#1 is Nik +Zoe sweater and NYDJ straight leg plaid ponte pants. I like, but it's a good thing it has the zipper on one side, otherwise too tight in belly. (See resolution.) I like the straight leg better on me and I like this plaid better. Both are keepers.

#2 NYDJ ponte--hard time getting a good shot with plaid and Munro slip ons. Also keep

#3-6 I love the color of this Theory jacket. I like the fabric. I used to wear lots of Theory blazers and pants--not sure why I stopped buying them. Maybe the body change is why.

I'm trying to convince myself that even though it doesn't fit well it is still salvageable with different bottoms. It is too fitted for my current body, which is now more apple than ever in my life. I used to have a much narrower mid-section. The lower jacket flares out from my belly and muffin top. Still wrinkled, and I didn't realize the collar was up in the first self-timers. Took one outside.

Any hope? Even on sale and even though I can afford it this year I don't want to spend too much on something that doesn't work. I could drag myself to the store to try on other things next week.

Wearing it with Diana Kut plaid skinnies. Will keep these. They are so comfortable, but I am about to swear off skinnies because I don't like the way my legs look in them. They don't look right here.

Could replace it with the Nik+Zoe fringe tweed jacket.

#7-8 Eric Javits hat. A keeper. The band is same blue as Munros. My favorite hat of all time was a panama men's hat I bought at Penney's ages ago. I left it at the lounge at JFK on the way to Europe and never found a replacement. This is it.

Going back: Paige jeans. I love the slight bell bottoms. The pairs I bought last year in 30 are too big even now, so I got a bell and the higher rise skinnies in 29s and while they look good from hip down I can't button them. Darn.

Munro booties come today. EF top and underwear next week.

Updating to add Munro booties. Sigh they fit well, worried about long narrow toe, but checked and they aren't that much longer than old Munros.
