I LOVE LOVE LOVE them on you! I prefer them in 2, 3 and 4. With the boyfriend jeans they seem a bit too busy, however if you roll the jeans a little longer they may work. They are an 11 out of 10 in 2, 3 and 4.

I didn't read the original post, so I didn't realize until I first started reading the comments that there was so little love for these originally. I looked over your outfits and I think they look perfect!

I think the booties are adorable on you. Honestly, to me, their roundness seems in perfect harmony with your gorgeously curvy self. On someone who was more angular or tall and thin, I don't think the shape would work as well. You and the booties bookend each other, if that makes sense.

Thanks, everyone! I am pretty sure I'm keeping them.

Aziraphale, I think you're absolutely right about the front cutout. My dressy black booties have it too, and in fact that was one of my requirements for them (since I wanted to wear them with LBDs and stuff).

I don't have dark wash blue straight legs right now, but I do have black ones that will probably be great with these. Thanks for the suggestion. They may actually also work with my slouchy black pants, assuming I can get the hem over the boots.

ETA: You'd think I'd have learned by now that styling matters on K/R posts.... but no, I never learn. =P

Yay! Glad you're keeping them, Diana. I do not think you will regret it. :-)

One other thing I forgot to mention. I think the way the boot is cut in the front, kind of into a v-shape, is part of why they are easier to style with skirts than many other short boots. The cut-out v-shape elongates the leg line in the same way a v-neck elongates the appearance of the neck.

BTW do you have dark-wash, straight-leg jeans? They work particularly well with those. That is often how I wear mine (all winter long!).

They do look much better styled. I still like the original booties better on you, though. From here they now look like a normal, rounded toe, and I think the toe was a major sticking point for me - don't know how that translates IRL. Do you love them?

OK, I think enough people have responded that I can tell you what I think.

I like them so much better now that they're styled. I don't love them with the skinnies, but then again I don't really like any booties with skinnies, and these are actually better than most w/skinnies. Yesterday when I tried them on I had on the skinny straights I was wearing during the day, and they were also rolled up so I could see the boots. That did not work at all.

Shannon, I love the cutout ankle shape on booties (my black dressy ones have that too). My current red booties (that I'd be replacing with these) have a very straight and slightly gappy ankle so I don't think they look good with skirts. These are much better.

DJ, the toe shape doesn't bother me looking down. I think as long as my face is not five inches away from it it's fine. So looking from a normal position (sitting or standing) it looks proportional, especially with non-skinny pants.
Oh, and I did not move the camera, so I don't know why I appear taller. Maybe it's the silly blogger pigeon-toe pose (which is actually useful to see both the front and side of the shoe at once). =P But if I look taller, I should do it all the time!

Aziraphale, I was hoping you'd chime in! You are so right that they are super comfy. So yesterday J. said that the shape of the shoes was "ducky." He saw them in the box, not on my feet. That was kind of a weird description, but, thinking about it, it makes sense because my feet are actually pretty duck-like - flat, skinny in back, wider/splayed in front, skinny ankles. So these shoes fit pretty much perfectly. My toes are not cramped but the rest of my foot is not flapping around either. In that respect, they are much more comfortable than, for example, my Docs, which are so roomy on me (width- and depth-wise) it's ridiculous.
I agree about the necessity for red shoes! I am down to one pair (the Docs) from three (am ditching the other dead burgundy booties, and have demoted the red dansko mary janes to lab shoes) and definitely feel the need for at least one other pair.

ETA: Not really worried about datedness. I think they're pretty instantly recognizable as fluevogs, so kind of outside of any considerations of mainstream datedness or not.

I'm not a fan of the toe portion - too clown costume for me. I am sensitive to that because I have big feet, but you do not and it stands out (albeit in photos) with these. Although it is most evident in the side view (and you would not be standing that way very often I assume)... I prefere them with bare legs and the bootlegs. The hourglass created with the skinnies enhances the bulbous toe for me.

That said - I have heeled Docs that do this and I still love them (although only wore them once this year). Comfy fun shoes are not easy to come by so if they really tug at your heart keep.

I'm going to disagree with everyone else. Those booties are fabulous. I know this not only because they look adorable on you in all five of the above pictures, but because I own them too -- same colour and everything! -- and they are the most versatile, most-worn shoes in my closet. I've been wearing them for four years and they STILL get compliments from strangers. The stubby toe is a little asymmetrical and is charming. It makes your feet look really cute. Also, as you pointed out, they don't gape at the top like other booties tend to do, which makes them sleeker and more wearable with skirts. And the heel is chunky enough that it looks good under bootcut jeans as well -- not just straight legs or skinnies. I can wear those booties with just about everything I own -- all shapes of skirts and pants.

Also, just so you know, I have never found a more comfortable pair of heels. It is the perfect heel height for me, and the rubber soles make them feel like sneakers. I can walk in them all day.

And nothing looks cuter than red shoes with a neutral outfit. I vote keep, unless the fact that people have said they're dated has spoiled your enthusiasm for them. (Because when you buy a new pair of Fluevogs, you have to be really excited about them. Otherwise it takes the fun out of it).

I like them in all combinations, but from this perspective, one doesn't quite see the toe. What does it look like to your eye, when you're looking down?

They are very nice color, have fun detailing, and fit so nicely around the ankle. I also love how they elongate the legline thanks to that v-shape cutout in the front. Tough call! What matters most is how you feel about them.

By the way, did you move your camera lower than before? You seem taller in these pics.

I like them better here than I did in your original post. Styling makes a big difference. I absolutely love the color and the height and shape of the vamp and ankle on you.

That toe shape is not my favorite, i admit. I have a pair of Vogs from about 5-6 years ago that have a less extreme version of that shape, and I like them. These verge on too wide in the toe for my taste, but the rest of the boot helps offset that.

How do you feel in them with these stylings? I think that's the important thing. Do they live up to your expectations? It seems like you admired them for so long, I would want you to enjoy them thoroughly!

Thanks so much for taking the time to do take these styled pics Diana - to me, seeing the entire outfit makes for a much more informed assessment.

I absolutely LOVE them for you! I like the fit around the ankle in particular. The way the front opens really elongates your beautiful legs. I also like them equally with dresses/skirts and with pants. I don't mind the toe shape at all and I adore the button detailing. The comfort level counts for a lot too IMO. My vote is keep.

Diana, these are not cute enough for you! To me they do not fit your adorable, feminine, slightly quirky style. Such a shame because they are a great color and so comfy.

OK, tried the Fluevog Giulia with five different types of outfits. Same plain black top in all of them except for the dress. I'm not worried about what colors to pair them with, just the overall silhouette.

1: with mod dress
2: with a slim skirt
3: skinnies
4: bootcuts
5: rolled-up BF jeans

What do you think now?
