Nice versions of both ensembles but my favorite is #1. This is a very flattering and unexpected combination.

Both are lovely - but #1 is wow. I love the shade and fit of your denim jacket, and that is a gorgeous skirt. Very cute shoes, too. YLF.

Oh gee golly gorgeous!! No. 1 had me from the get-go. I have a special love for luxe lace dresses and skirts. So this is really lovely, especially with the denim jacket and flats to make it more casual luxe.

2 is nice, but love to see the scarf tied more as a muffler. Otherwise it's spot on.

Nicely done!! I love that you experimented with Angie's ensembles!

I like both of these a lot. #1 is a less common look, I loved it the moment Angie posted that ensemble and have been wanting to try it. #2 is the kind of look I wear a lot so of course I love it.

As for her ensembles, I view them as a starting point. Even if they don't end up remotely close to her Polyvores, the fact that they spurred the imagination and made outfit creation easier, is the whole point.

Thanks, lyn67 and Dav Vies! Lyn67, I plan on trying that outfit again either w/o the scarf or with it tied differently. Day Vies, denim jackets are my favorite way to de-bonbshell a skirt!

Thanks, lisap! That skirt is one of my favorites that I just don't wear all that often. With it being so warm at work I usually dress in layers, and this ensemble worked perfectly for that.

I love the jean jacket look you produced.

After looking at that ensemble post, I fished out my jean jacket from high school, buttoned it up, felt like an extra from Footloose and that was that!

Suz, ha! I was convinced I was a pear - in fact, I even got out my measuring tape to prove it, and what I proved was, well, ahem...

Angie, yes, I don't like the way I have the scarf tied in #2. It's just too big or poofy or something. Aida's suggestions are spot on.

Shevia, if I didn't work in a 100-year-old sauna like building, I would never be able to wear that first outfit right now.

Eh, mine wasn't a midi-skirt, either. It was below the knee but it always crawls up above my knee with the tights, so what the heck. I love your version. I think it is truer to the original because the skirt is more luxe. It's a fun look on you! I think it works on us pear-turned-rectangles. (ha!) Or maybe anybody who is smaller up top. I plan to wear it again as soon as I can.

Aida, it is still frigidly cold over here. The school building I work in is like a sauna, though, so I wear leggings over my stockings to go to and from work (actually they're black Cuddl Duds long underwear that look like leggings) and once I'm in the building, I take them off. It is so warm in the building we have to open the windows, even when it's below zero outside! I like your suggestions re the scarf and will try that next time.

Nice takes on the ensemble formulas! I think the skirt in #1 is "midi-enough"; it's clearly a longer skirt, so the vibe still holds. Great wash on that denim jacket. Must say I'm surprised at the light hosiery (isn't it still quite cold over there?), but I like the lightness that it brings compared to an opaque tight. The blue-out looks good too, though I'd be tempted to skip the scarf and go for a more streamlined look to let the front detail of the sweater show more. Or perhaps tie it in a more muffler style so more sweater shows, then push the sleeves up so that you've got some lightness to echo the lightness of the scarf

I've been wanting to try my hand at more of Angie's ensembles, but it seems like something is always missing in my wardrobe. I decided to just give it a go anyway, shop my closet and have a little fun.

First up, Denim Jacket Burberry Style. Even with my bazillion skirts, I don't have a midi skirt, so this was a big swap-out that changed the whole ensemble. I wore my most fitted denim jacket and was surprised at how well I liked the result. I actually kept it buttoned up all day and was quite comfortable. Flats won the "Which shoe?" decision because I am on my feel most of the day. This is what I wore today and I got a lot of compliments, so my happiness factor was very high!
Tuxedo Skirt - JCP, jacket - American Eagle, flats - Sam Edelman

Next, Ensemble: Ink-Out. This one turned out to be more of a "50 Shades of Blue" but I did enjoy wearing it and will wear it again. I might tie the scarf differently next time so it doesn't look so big.
Sweater - Joe Fresh (JCP), slim pants - JCP, scarf - Charming Charlie

Thanks for looking! Comments and suggestions are welcome :)
