Years ago, a style expert I admired at the time published an article decrying pashminas as frumpy. She only grudgingly used one for warmth and modesty in the hospital after she gave birth to her son. As a longtime lover of wraps (though never a pashmina, authentic or otherwise), I felt a bit crushed at the time, but kept on using them for the practical side, accepting that I wasn't stylish. There was a guy-coworker in a place where I used to work some years ago  who always appreciated my dressing style but did not like the wrap: he said that in that wrap I made him think of Dracula! Hahaha. Despite some moth-holes I am still using it, I'm too fond of it.
