I tried the animal print version on today. They didn't have the mint version. Also only regular, not petites. I tried the smallest size they had, and it definitely "had a thing going." Unfortunately the pattern+cocoon'ing combo was just too much for me and my frame (even though it fit, technically).

I wish I could have tried it in the mint, but that color doesn't really fit with my Fall plan so I'm not going to order it.

I do think it's adorable and if I was even 3 inches taller ....

I'm so amused by the look on the model's face in the photo. She also seems to think that it's A Lotta Look!

I tried the print version too and something was a bit off for me but I cannot say what I agree about the print - it is more attractive online than IRL. I also found that while the top was plenty roomy the bottom part when closed was almost restricting the movement (even though it was not a tight fit).
However I also tried another coat in a different style and black / white plaid pattern and liked that cut much better. Unfortunately I don't see it online.

I've wanted a nice color coat or jacket for a few years now and am always attracted to the cocoon shapes. But they are really not flattering on me; I just look big all over, except for height of course!

I saw the print one today - and yes, I was attracted to it at first glance, but up close....it's a lot of coat PLUS a big hairy print. Just not for me. The store didn't have the mint one , sadly.

Hee, I have a big head but the big lapels are tricky for me anyway, because of my short neck and short waist. It's not a good look when the lapel covers your ENTIRE chest.

Frankly, I think the print version looks better in the photo than it did in person. The pattern plus the texture plus the oversize cut made it really dramatic. Too much for me. BUT I'm sure someone here could rock it. Anna comes to mind.

I have noticed that, Diana! It trips me up, because on one hand, I'm attracted to the drama. But then I have to be careful because I have a tiny little pinhead and a big collar can look really out-of-proportion.

I wish things like this would fit me but they're always overwhelming and swallow me up I think the drop shoulders + cocoon cut + big lapels make this a really tricky shape.

Also, has anyone else noticed that lapels on coats lately seem to be getting really big?

I actually like it in both the print and the mint. I guess I'm not too afraid of bold prints, for some reason I think I can carry them off. But what makes me hesitate is the cut of the arm - dropped shoulders are always a no no for me, sadly.

Gorgeous coat, hope someone enjoys it.

I am 5"1 and cuuuuurvy so I can understand print aversion.

I'd maybe not go mint myself. It tends to washout quicker, and look wider, but then again this does have some good lines on it...I think the pint is..? Intense. Bold. Kind of "who's that girl"? I could totally see some tall blonde fashion blogger in a black pantsuit and snearkers with this on. It's kind of cool in a way, very statment-e.

The oversized sleeves turn me off though. They just scream rainjacket gone wrong to me unfortunately, the rest of it is so streamlined I just don't understand why they went like that??? Argh. Maybe I'm just old fashioned or something.

So last night as I cruised quickly through the mall on an errand, I spied this coat in BR. However, it was the bold black and white animal print version. As Tim Gunn would say, that's a lot of look.

But I was curious about the cut since seeing it in the mint green color, so I popped in to try it on. Well, it is certainly generously cut! I tried it on in a M and it was plenty roomy -- I may have been able to go down to a S but the hip seemed to fit with plenty of ease for possible layering heavier pants and a longer tunic or sweater in the M. I can't address the possible scratchiness factor because the print version is a faux "pony" finish.

It's a pretty cool cut though. It's difficult to say how it REALLY looks because the big cut plus the bold print made it quite overwhelming, and I'm not exactly a tiny woman.

I'm not sure I'll try it in the mint, since I've already bought some things for F/W, and coats are not a pressing need for me, but I thought I'd share my impressions of the cut since many of you seemed interested in it.
