I can't remember a collection or garment ever affecting me that way. The closest may have been a real vintage beaver coat from a defunct college drama department prop room. I did not have a coat and college friend brought it to me insisting I wear it. I put it back reluctantly when I graduated. I don't think it was ever missed. No productions happened during that time. It was beautifully made and warm, plus people must have been small in its time. This dress I first saw on Net-A-Porter. I remember looking at it daily, simply in awe of how beautifully made it was. It went on sale, and I dreamt of the fantasy lifestyle where I would wear such a dress. I never bought it, but I looked at this dress daily, spellbound. I did contemplate buying it simply because I loved it as a work of art rather than to wear.</p> <p>At the time, I did not know that Gemma Ward wore this dress on the catwalk. Gemma Ward is one of my favourite models and for me is the perfect wearer of this extraordinary dress, combining beauty, strength and vulnerability. This was McQueen at the height of his powers and Gemma was the perfect muse. Magic happens when the right people come together.</p> <p>My ultimate fantasy dress is bold, beautiful and by a genius who is missed.
