I find them wide for my low volume feet, Elisabeth. But the length is TTS so I went with my regular size - 6.5 - because of long toes. With fillers like insoles and socks, it's all good.

Wanted to chime in to say that I am most always a 9 1/2 (have a bunion that bosses me around) but the 9 1/2 is too long and wide I have the 9 on order and am hoping that will work. They are much more comfortable and supportive than the canvas type Cons...keeping my fingers crossed!

For me, they were pretty true to size. I wear an 8.5, I'm kind of wide but can still manage with normal widths...I have a wider toebox, and these shoes fit very well.

Sorry, I wasn't clear... the "i" make me think the fit would be great, so I'm wondering about actual size. I take a 8.5-9, more often a 9, and they have them in 9 (but not an 8.5). The reviews say they tend to run big, so I'm wondering if that's the actual case...maybe the 9 would be too big for me. Given I have the Hi-Ness, I can directly compare the size and order accordingly. Or not.

Did any of the rest of you find they ran big?

Info reconnaissance for the long distance shopper!

E, I passed on my Hi-Ness years ago. These are SO MUCH BETTER. You can read about the fit on the Find. Click on the "i" in the bottom corner.

Dare I ask how you ladies find the fit on the Chucks? I'm so tempted, shopping freeze and all :) The reviews say they run big.

Angie, I know you have the Hi-Ness, as do I... how do they compare in size to those?

Mochi, if the Convs work for you they should be OK in the rain although it is always a good idea to have a back-up plan. Your Convs are leather, they should be OK.
I bought the same Convs but they did not work for me and I had to return them. My size was too tight on the toes and half size up was comfortable initially but felt clunky and heavy while walking. I think the issue is that I am in between sizes. Yours should be fine if you already walked a few miles in them and felt comfortable.

I wore them in London over New Year's and they were beautifully warm and comfortable for walking. And I'm not a fan of flat shoes in general!

I think Janet has a great point. If it were sure to be dry I would feel comfortable relying on the Cons. But I will need a backup shoe. (The Cons will make a fine everywhere else shoe, though.)

I've been wondering about shoes for the March as well. I think I'll take my running shoes (knock on wood for no rain since they are not waterproof). See you there!

I can't speak to these shoes specifically (although I really like the look of them!). I just wanted to point out that it's likely to be muddy on the march (the Mall is a mess in rainy season, and it's been quite rainy). Just be sure to bring shoes/boots you don't mind getting muddy!

I'm guessing this one has an insole (I'm lying in bed at the moment). I'll check later. My older cons don't support my feet, for sure, and these new ones seem ok.

Are these the "new model" Converse or the "old model"? Recently they added a supportive insole as part of their "Chuck II" line. I think I know the shoes you mean, the warm fuzzy ones? But I don't know which line they're based on. I haven't worn the new style so I don't know how different they are.

I wore nothing but Converse for years, with the classic flat insole, and even though I have strong feet, I was much happier when I added a high-quality insole. I used Dr Scholl's Sport insoles which have more structure than the plain foam ones.

New insoles can take some adjustment, though.

Yes, those same chucks that Angie inspired me to buy!

They have been pretty much my recent go-to shoe. I'm considering wearing them this upcoming weekend to the Women's DC March. Does anyone have experience with distance wearing of these shoes? I'm guessing they'll be pretty good support for me. Up til now I'm not walking huge amounts with them, but it's kind of too close to buy and break anything else in at this point....? Normally my running shoes (which I wear for walking--running shoes offer better support) would be it, but the latest pair I have are too big and hurt my feet. Luckily the weather is going to be warmish and dry.
