Thanks for the advice Ele. I have looked at their site a couple of times for dresses. I might book an appointment for one night after work.

I so wish there was a good place for a bra fitting near me. I am so frustrated trying to fit my teen daughters that are full busted (as opposed to full figured). They have had two fittings at Nordstroms that were unsuccessful. Has anyone used Her Room online? They have free shipping and returns so I thought I might order a few styles/sizes to try. I might add that they are very picky. Not too pointy, not to sheer, not too stiff......

Good for you, that's great! I love getting new bras :)

londonkiwi, if you're still reading this, you should consider Bravissimo when you get a fitting. They do wonderful ones and are SO knowledgeable there- I like the Covent Garden store, which is a bit quieter than the Oxford Circus one.

Another in agreement that a proper bra fitting is essential even if you think you have nothing to put in it. After going I'm another convert. If you haven't done so, just do it!

Good for you! And I bet you'll feel sulty in the non-work bra. Always good to have a switch.

I chose a Chantelle bra as they were highly recommended here and seem to fit my small size well. Because I have to wear a sports bra to work every day, I was able to purchase a bra with a daring (for me) amount of push-up for non-work dressing. It was swell.

I haven't had one since I arrived in the UK, so this is something on my to do list as well, especially as I have lost weight I suspect that I have lost at least 1/2 a cup size.

I tend to buy nude/white in summer and black and darker colours in winter to spread the cost throughout the year.

Yeah, I think I should take Angie's advice on this too! I've never had a bra fitting and never thought about getting one because I have a small bust... but it would be interesting to see if I've been buying the wrong size all along! Thanks for sharing your experience.

I third the opinion! I just bought a couple of Wacoal Awareness bras and they are fantastic for "full figures". I was having a hard time finding my size in a racer back and found a convertible Champion (supposed to be a sports bra) that works as a sleek tshirt bra under tanks. Changed my summer vacation lol!

I so agree with this! And that you need to make room in your budget to refresh your bra wardrobe about once a year. I just refreshed and it makes a huge difference.

What brand and model did you end up buying? I know it's all individual, but I'm still curious!

Angie says the most important thing to get right first is the best bra. After putting it off for a year, I finally, finally went and got a proper bra fitting today. And of course, Angie was right and I should have listened sooner! Once I was put into the proper size and found a bra with the necessary lift, I was giddy with excitement. I can't believe I wore such an ill-fitting bra for so long. I tried my tops and dresses on when I got home, and every single item of clothing I own looks better now. And not just by a little... but a lot. If there's anyone out there who's putting off a bra fitting hear me- it's not scary and so very worth it. It's a wardrobe refresher! Thank you Angie!
