If I HAD to choose one, I'd go for #1, the red one. I prefer both the style and the color on you.

But if you can't decide, I would just get both. You might regret not grabbing one or the other later! They are both fantastic and you'll easily get your $$$'s worth when you make them your year-round wardrobe staples.

I prefer the red one. The color is fab and the details make it look special. I don't care for how the bottom edge of the olive one creeps up in the middle--it makes it look too small, like you need to go up a size to get more room around the midriff, so the bottom band will hang straight.

hbaber32, I tried the study of shapes dress in a 2, and it fit well (for reference, the red dress is a 2 and the green dress is an XS, so it was true to size). It had a very pronounced A-line skirt (much more so than the red dress), which I wasn't quite used to, and it was cute but a big change from my usual pencil skirts. The halter straps didn't quite lie flat over my breasts when I tied it at the top - the sides of the straps stuck up a bit. It might be better for someone with a slightly smaller chest, or just in need of someone with better halter tying skills or some double sided tape. Another option, if you were only going to wear it as a halter, would be to sew up the straps over the front part of the dress, rather than only having them attached at the waist. It also doesn't seem to be a problem for this woman (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_SixW.....G_2129.JPG), so it could have just been my particular dress.

Basically, it's too summery for me to wear year round, and not something I would feel comfortable wearing to teach, so I passed on it. It is the ultimate summer picnic dress.

I am slightly favoring the olive one. Both are VERY nice on you, but I prefer the fit of the olive one and think it would lend itself to more variety of styling, more seasons, more polished overall look.

If you *can* get both, then the red one would be great for spring/summer.

Both are lovely. I like the second one more, it is very figure flattering for you. I like the waist definition on it. It is conservative enough for teaching and hot enough for date night. You look much better in it than it looks on their webpage.

I find that rayon/spandex combination to hold up well over time. I like that you don't have to dry clean it, you can throw it into the wash if you have an ultra gentle cycle.

I like the second one as well. What is the material? it seems like it would be prone to pilling. If I were you, I would carefully examine the dresses in the store for any signs of pilling - check out armpits, etc.

I like the second one better, it looks excellent. I think you'll get a lot of use out of it, and it will be easier than the red to change up with different shoes and accessories, etc. The red one is nice, color looks terrific on you but i don't think the fit is as good, if you have to choose. On another note, as a teacher myself, I fully sympathize with the effort to find affordable, appropriate, comfortable dresses! These both seem to fit the bill, good for you!

As I've already posted/complained about elsewhere, I went to Anthro yesterday and tried on two dresses that are amazing! I snapped some quick photos with my phone, and it turns out they actually look decent on the computer (I never bother getting photos off of my phone).

So here they are. I'm planning on taking off the shoulder ties on the red dress - I checked and it would be easy to do and look like they were never there. Both work well with belts too, but I like that neither needs a belt. They both seem to fit perfectly and be super versatile and would work in the summer and with layers almost year round! And I think they're both teaching appropriate with an open or buttoned cardi on top (I tried one on top in the store, but didn't take pictures), which is rare for anthro dresses.

They are http://www.anthropologie.com/a.....Style=Info and http://www.anthropologie.com/a.....ubCategory

Feel free to tell me they aren't 10s - it would save me a whole lot of $$$ and time.
