Nice photos and memories! Thank you for posting.
Diagonal stripes on clothes are tricky - I'd minimize the amount of stripes by pushing up the sleeves and adding little scarf in different print ( floral? - on the neck or tied to the bag..).
Sometimes posing for the pictures in half-turned way could make the difference - I think I'd try that at home since we have more time now for some experiences .

Good guesses on my stay at home thread, and I just learned there are hundreds of replicas in various cities all over the world. I didn't know there were so many--just looked it up.

Imagine you are walking past stately old French style houses in a suburban neighborhood. You approach the river and the train station, to find yourself among modern high rises. A pleasant walk through a park and you come across this statue. Quite a surprise, especially back then! This park is called Barrancas de Belgrano, and Belgrano is a suburb of Buenos Aires, Argentina. This was in 1984. The river is the Rió de la Plata.

Our last stop on our 2004 cruise was Buenos Aires. I don't have a photo of us visiting that statue again, but I have a few of the French architecture in the city. The Argentines loved the French and much of their architecture copied 18th century French. Barrancas was designed by a French Argentine landscape architect, Carlos Thays.

Who knew there was a replica in San Juan, Argentina? It was supposed to go to San Juan, Puerto Rico, and no one knows how it got to San Juan, which is east of BA and borders with Chile--completely landlocked. In the Andes.

More about French architecture in Buenos Aires.
https://www.batravelguide.com/.....aires.html

Here's some photos of some of these buildings from the downtown areas mostly. And a couple from Montevideo. *This is the fashion item!
#2 is in the Plaza San Martin, next to the Plaza Hotel, a once famous spot.
##3-4 Bank buildings, downtown BA.
#5 the Colón Theater and Opera House. Where European opera stars performed in the Northern Hemisphere off season, Jan-Feb.
#6 an apartment building, I think in Retiro.

##7-10 Montevideo, Uruguay

I learned on this trip that diagonal stripes on tops do not photograph well. It still makes me dizzy to look at some of these photos. A bonus photo or 2. Mr. M and I visited a winery and you can see, the Uruguayans know how to do a wine tasting!

So, is there a way to photograph diagonal stripes on clothes? I do like diagonal stripes for some reason.

I hope you don't get dizzy.
