Those are cute loafers. I have seen Munro shoes often in the past at the Rack, but again, no guarantees. Sometimes there are pleasant surprises: A couple of years ago there was a Ted Baker sweater in the sale that I loved, but just couldn’t justify ordering it for the price and my lack of “need” for it at the time. Six months later, it appeared at the Rack for a song, and I snagged it. But that’s the exception in my experience, and it meant I had to be in the Rack at the right time to catch it!

Nordstrom seems to be the main retailer who carries Munro, but check Zappos and Amazon too.

Thanks to everyone who posted with advice/info on how prices move after NAS. Kathie, the knowledge that NAS pieces might be available elsewhere for less than the “sale” price is priceless—super helpful against that nagging pressure that “since prices are so low, I really ought to get things now”. Bye-bye, guilt!!!!

I can see you in these shoes, Stag!

There is no set formula:

Sometimes items sell out completely. GONE.

Sometimes items go on sale again end of September. Sometimes end of October. Sometimes at Thanksgiving. Sometimes January.

Sometimes items end up at The Rack.

Discounts can be anything from 15% to 70%.

Last year I put a bunch of things on a Wishlist to see what happened to them over time. They were never massively discounted, just modestly discounted. So it is really only worth it if you only want to save 15 percent or so. I had better luck using NAS to identify brands with good products in a given category and checking the Rack for equivalent past season pieces from the same brand.

For me, it’s always been at the end of season sale - at The Rack - where I’ve seen old NAS items. You never know about any given item.

Exactly what Echo said. It’s unpredictable. I’ve gotten price adjustments successfully for items from the sale that went on further discount later on, by calling or chatting with customer service. Sometimes the future discount is rather meager and barely worth the effort, other times it’s significant. Total crap shoot! I never count on the future sale strategy — last year none of my items went on sale later. Plus sometimes popular sizes are gone at that point.

Nodding along with Echo. With few exceptions, I have never been able to predict which items will go back on sale. Of items on my wish list, I've noticed that jewelry and most Zella rarely go back on sale (or not until 6+ months later) but some of the T&B items do go back on sale by early September. The AGL shoes also often go back on sale, but I find that those are suspiciously "produced for the sale" because the details (eg. sole is usually synthetic, with no leather) are sometimes not the same quality as similar shoes in the regular line. My other "tip" is that I have found that if I can find the exact same item on the brand website, it will often not go on sale again within a month or two of NAS (in December, sure, but not September.) Interestingly, I have sometimes found the exact same item for less elsewhere (Patagonia and North Face coats and jackets) during NAS, and with those two brands I suspect that they get a lot of overstock or previous year's stock for NAS.

Would it be a possibility to buy now, and have shipped to family in the US? And then return if they don't work out, once you're back in the States?

Also, did you see that this particular shoe is available in a wine leather (not patent) for even less, on the Munro website? https://munroshoes.com/product.....9372590249

Ah, it is a perennial issue, but there's no predicting. Sometimes things sell out entirely, so later sales are irrelevant. Sometimes they go on sale as soon as a month after the sale (before a person has had a chance to wear fall items) for less than during the sale. Other times, they don't go on sale at any other time of year. So I wish I had a formula to tell, but there really is no predicting.

Every year, after NAS, people mention that an item they coveted or bought has come down in price. I like these loafers from Angie’s post today, but they are above my usual shoe budget, and I’d rather get them when I drop my son off at college this fall than deal with trans-Atlantic shipping. I’ve never really tracked the after-sales. Can anyone tell me how long after NAS it is before people see things going on quiet sale, and how those prices tend to compare to ordinary & NAS prices? I’ve never really paid attention before. I realize there’s no guarantee these shoes will indeed be on sale. That’s ok, because there’s also no guarantee I’d like them.
