I have a knee-jerk reaction to horizontal patterns, so I say pass. But not because it doesn't fit you or doesn't have great colors. Am I allowed to say I really only like Missoni in small doses?

I have the same blue dress. I've styled mine w a denim jacket, black leather moto jacket and black cropped cardi to break up the shoulder line & paired it w long necklaces. I love your yellow shoes. I've worn mine w denim wedges, black wedges, black booties w tights and riding boots. I definitely think this dress is more modern than the black and white one. We are in the same age bracket and body type. I'm probably a bit shorter. (5'1")

I ordered a dress (to be worn as a tunic over skinnies, with jacket), a blouse/sweater, and a sweater tank (again, as a layering piece).

Can I vote again for the M for T dress? Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay Yay!

I agree with the neckline looking awkward. It look as if the area that is even to your underarms is very wide. It is as if the seam goes out further than the side of your body. The color and print is fabulous. You may be able to take it in a little under the arm and that may solve the problem.

Did you want me to get *that* specific, Una.

Yeah, that could work with this dress. But I think, for $60, it should be more versatile than that PLUS I'd have to get it altered and, well, I know I'm too lazy to get that done. Especially since this would likely be my only sweater dress.

Wouldn't a flared hem be good for shoulder balancing? I'm considering IT as my secondary type now; I definitely dress with hourglass in mind first and IT as an afterthought because I don't really mind a strong shoulder line and the difference isn't too big

Well, it would work with a black sweater but it made me look really odd. Usually that neckline works for me, but not in a knit with no flare at the hem. *shudder* I would love it if you joined Team IT!

I'm afraid it's pretty unflattering to me too! After losing weight over this year, I think I'm officially an IT now and boy that neckline wasn't optimal! Plus I think if I get a "sweater dress" it should probably have, you know, sleeves I will post photos if I can muster up the energy after work tonight!

Well! From the options available to me (almost nothing) I picked up a tank sweater dress which I decided isn't very practical and is also a size too large, the heels which I'm on the fence about because I'd JUST decided no more HIGH high heels, 2 of the silk scarves which I'm absolutely keeping, several of the tumblers which my husband vetoed so all but 2 are going back, and a beautiful glass dish which is on my dining table My main goal was the tumblers and the silk scarves so I'm pleased with what I came away with.

Hmm I'm just not crazy about that neckline on you; the one dress I was able to get from the Missoni release also has a neckline I didn't like on me so it will be going back. If you love it AND are willing to put a little extra work in to combat the neckline it's worth keeping, imo

Aw, Airin, you are so sweet! *blushing*

I'm not sure this dress can be modified, as it's knit, or that I would pay any more to do it, (since it's a Target dress). I'm going to try a couple of options before I decide. I agree the neckline is a problem, but with the mod vibe maybe it can work. I've got some truly mod vintage boots crying to come out and play!

Would it be crazy to change the neckline? I mean, take it to the taylor and see what can be done, if he/she can open the neck a bit or something. I would go for a boat neck, V-neck might be a bit too much given the shortness of the skirt. I love how the difficult colors pair perfectly with your skin-tone -believe me, I look horrible in yellow- and it would be a pity that you wouldn't keep it.

In all honesty, I'd wear the dress just like that, no jeggings. I understand that you are in your 40s, but you have nice and toned legs. I think that 'modesty' is age-related partly because as we grow older, our bodies don't look as nice as they used to so we need to cover up, I don't think it has that much to do with 'sexiness'. As long as you feel comfortable showing your beautiful legs -which are more than fine-, I don't think it'd look indecent. Yesterday I saw one of my friends' mom, she's 58 and still wears skirts that hit quite above her knees. She's got incredible legs and the right to flaunt them!

I agree with the idea that it would look great as a tunic top. That's how I'd wear it if I had it---but I love the colors on you, and the retro-mod look of the shape. I just think it's a little off, shape-wise, as a dress all on its own. But as a tunic---yes.

Una, I think you totally pull off the first Missoni dress. It's kinda funky in an "Una-like" way. The colors are gorgeous on you and those yellow shoes are just perfect. I would love to see the ways you can style that cute dress. Yes, the neckline is a bit high, but with a long pendant and your hair up, I think it works. The second Missoni style dress is lovely and very flattering, but I love the first one. It's so YOU.

Thanks Una for your offer. I've resigned myself to not having any chevron patterned Missoni items:( I'm sending the skirt to Cciele.

The more I see you on this dress, the more I think you can pull it off. It fits your style persona.

The second dress is more figure flattering, but I actually prefer the spunk and deliberate boxiness of the first. I think you have the flair to make it look intentional and stylish.

I vote keep!

The colors in the Missoni are KILLING me. I think you and your style can totally mesh with that dress, high neckline and all. I agree with a previous poster - I'd like to see a loooong necklace with the blue dress to break up the high neckline a bit. The dress in number 3 is flattering and nice and conventional, but I think the blue dress has way more potential to be edgy, RATE, and Una-worthy. You'd just have to work for it.

I love the colors on you, and I do think that you could make it work. I have to be honest, though, I like the fake Missoni better. I know that the blue dress is supposed to be boxy, but maybe it's too stiff, or something, for it to work for my eye. Of course, it might also be the case that it has more swing and drape that's not being captured on film.
