However, I think this has more to do with awareness than anything else. Things are not necessarily going swimmingly with the administration. The First Lady's fashion choices are ALWAYS debated, regardless of which party in in office. Had I been in her place, I would have sought to keep the attention (and hence the potential criticism) away from myself. This strikes me as the blouse issue during the campaign. Again, nothing at all wrong with her choice of what to wear, but <i>someone</i> should have been more aware of the potential implications - aides or press secretary or someone. So I don't see her choice of what to wear as cruel or uncaring or fiddling while Rome burns, but I DO see it as oblivious.
