I'm cooking (I almost always do, I love Thanksgiving) but it'll be a small crowd this year, just 6 of us. Since my brother-in-law is bringing his famous (and my favorite) pecan pie, I'll be wearing stretchy pants and a long, loose top. Nothing too heavy as it will be warm in the kitchen.

We're a thousand miles away from family and have been invited to our pastor's home for Thanksgiving this year. I'm leaning toward black pointe leggings, Long sleeve black tee and a chunky charcoal cardi. Or a knee length black jersey dress with my denim jacket. Both options worn with black, flat knee boots.
I'm definitely going in comfy stretchy stuff but I have no idea the level of dress they do for the holiday. Smart casual seems safe.
Perhaps trouser jeans if you have them with an elegant sweater? Another option on my radar. I'm asking my pastor's wife tomorrow how they normally dress.

I love Thanksgiving the best of all...I cook and repeat the wonderful food that has been a part of my family for generations...I had thought to wear a pair of RL silky pants that flow and have a lot of room for an overindulger...However, after reading the white jeans, I may change..That would keep me honest...
I enjoy planning what I wear as much as I enjoy cooking...It is fun to keep it a bit festive...Hope all of you have a blessed day...I am thankful to have this wonderful place to share fashion...

i'm not sure what i'll be wearing….it know what i won't be wearing, i'd love to wear my white BF jeans, but i'll be with my mom, and these are not what she would consider appropriate, so i'll need to think of something else.

Thursday I'll be a guest at my neighbor's home. I guess smart casual would describe how people dress. I'll cook our turkey dinner when we arrive at our rental cabin in the mountains this weekend, then we'll enjoy the leftovers & not have to cook again for a few days. I like the leftover hot turkey sandwiches better than the formal dinner anyway!

I haven't even thought about it yet but it will likely be some variation of smart casual. My husband is working and we are doing dinner with friends. Dinner itself is coming from a local market but we haven't hashed out the rest of the details yet.

I think it was on the cooking channel that I recently saw one chef after another asked what to wear on Thanksgiving. They all said, "Elastic pants!" It made me laugh--and think. So I will be cooking for 9 and wearing my super-stretchy Gap black ponte jeans and some kind of loose tunic plus apron.

Ha! The Thanksgiving police Jealous of the comfy outfits. That's what I want. May have to hit the mall tomorrow to find a smart, comfy ensemble...maybe J.Jill?

No idea yet! I don't think I'll be cooking as much this year, which is usually my primary concern regarding the outfit. We'll be having two this year, one with my family and one with our friends. I usually dress up a bit more for all of the family outings; a loose sweater dress, tights, and heels usually works well. For our annual friends dinner, it's usually an oversized/fluid sweater with jeans and short boots.

(Rachy! Crab on Thanksgiving?? Sounds yummy to me, crab is my favorite! But hey if you need your turkey fix, it's too bad you don't live closer to me: We smoke ~30-40 lbs of turkey for Friendsgiving every year. I wonder where one would find Thanksgiving police.)

I've travelled a lot lately and will be doing so again for Christmas, so DH and I are doing Thanksgiving locally with friends. My outfit will be extra-casual. Probably leggings and a tunic or, if I'm really feeling laid-back, my sweatshirt dress. No uncomfortable clothes for me for a day of eating and sitting around playing board games afterwards.

We are going to a restaurant to have crab because my mother is just so wrong about this. I think there ought to be Thanksgiving police that go around and ticket any business open on Thanksgiving. Do not make me lecture about the crab issue again.

Anyways, I had an outfit idea, but I can't remember. So now I'm thinking orangey-red plaid sack dress. Maybe with heavy boots and frilly socks. Or maybe my grey lace "teacher shoes" (heeled oxfords).

I always struggle with dressing "up," as my life revolves around jeans. With some effort, I finally landed on a wintery outfit that doesn't include jeans: a textured patterned (sorta striped) black Milly skirt with black tights and lace up shoes, and an adorable skull patterned grey cashmere sweater I found at RevolveClothing.com last year. I hate being cold!

I'm wearing loungewear! My kids will be at their dad's. My stepmom will be in FL with friends. My FIL is staying at the beach. My step son is going to visit his mom. It'll be just the two of us, and I'm so excited to just snuggle in for a long weekend. My husband wants the full Thanksgiving meal, so I'll be cooking...once...for the whole weekend. I'll fill a table for 12 at Christmas, so I'm really looking forward to a low key holiday.

Ack! One week until Thanksgiving. Usually we have a small, informal gathering with immediate family so I dress casual. This year, we are going to a dinner at church. What to wear?! I think I can still go pretty casual, but I'm hoping to find a festive blouse or sweater. What are you wearing?
