All the cast offs went into a pile in the guest bedroom. I need to go through them and either commit to storing them properly, or getting rid of them. In a few weeks I'd like to do a nice brutal pruning of what's left. For now, I have breathing room. I also cleared out a top shelf full of pants that no longer fit. We do have a community theater group, and I never thought to donate to them. I will look in to it--thank you for the suggestion. I definitely like to support the arts! I'm also looking to see if we have a local Dress for Success, the organization that Angie volunteers for.</p> <p>Goodwill has a strong presence in my area and we have MANY stores in my town, so that's where I donate usually for lack of any other options. </p> <p>I also sometimes donate to our local Public Defender's office. What started out as a mini-purge has turned into a massive purge, as I have already loaded up four LARGE garbage bags with clothes and shoes to donate and probably have another one or two to go. Most of my purged items haven't been worn in 3 to 7 years--YES, SEVEN YEARS!!!! I've moved three times in the last 7 years, so it's shocking to me that I've lugged some of this stuff around for that long!<br /> The one thing I will note is that most of the items are in excellent condition. I think that this is why I've hung on to them. I hate waste.<br /> Most items were a no-brainer--I didn't even have to think twice about. But the one rule I had to enforce upon myself for "in good condition" shoes--if they're not comfortable, donate them.<br /> Anyway, thanks for listening. I just had to share. I feel so liberated! </p>
