The idea is to assist them to reintegrate into society. In my class I am using a curriculum that has been shown over 20 years to reduce recidivism. It teaches them to think differently about their choices and to learn to make choices based on pro-social motivations rather than on a very short term pleasure principle. I enjoy working with them very much. She had been&nbsp;very clever and had&nbsp;figured out that we lived in adjacent regions of California, just from my description of my town in my comment on&nbsp;Una's Nation of Slobs post. I knew that meeting her would be so much fun, and had been looking forward to it for days while I dealt with my Dad's serious illness.</p> <p>Denise has met a lot of ylf-ers before, so she kindly informed me that what ylf people do when they meet is shop. I was feeling pangs of hunger but wanted to follow the correct etiquette, so shop we did. We shopped at Target and Kohls because that's what we had available. We had so much fun picking out clothes for each other! I definitely forgot I was hungry. We talked nonstop for four hours, which eventually included dinner.</p> <p>Denise looked killer in her white Catherine bfs, sand suede Report Marks booties, V-neck white tee semi-tucked with white belt, palest tan sweater around her shoulders, and straw clutch. I had warned her that I would be dressed to lead my Wednesday offender group, so I wore BR navy sloans, AGL flats, and a St. James mariniere semi-tucked into an Angie pick silver and gold Fossil belt.</p> <p>I regret we didn't get a photo!</p> <p>It was so easy to talk to Denise and I'm so glad she messaged me! I hated to say goodbye, but we will meet again, and next time I'll drive the distance.</p>
