I absolutely love Angie's ensemble posts. This is one of the few this autumn that I haven't tried immediately but I will be putting it to work just as soon as I can. And I love my chambray shirt too. Glad your closet feels revitalized.

Hear, hear! Angie's formulas are so incredibly flop proof. I recently acquired a chambray shirt and it has had the same effect on my wardrobe as yours, Krish. Cheers!

I really liked it too. I have done this in the past, but Angie's post made me think about in a more methodical way. I think I just stumbled upon it one day, not thinking about it as an outfit formula. It's so useful when you can translate something instinctive into a thought process.

I like the ensemble too - I wasn't sure when I wore it, but later realized that I'd just been cold all day, because even though I wore three tops, I only wore one pair of pants (jeans, no long underwear). Next time I wear that formula, I'll dress warmer and I'm sure, be much happier in it.

Angie hit a home run for me too with her casual layers post.
I didn't exactly copy cat it today but it was the springboard for an outfit I really enjoyed: black and white striped shirt untucked, dark wash denim bootcuts, black moto, black and white tartan big scarf, grey booties and belt.
The bootcuts and moto have languished unworn for months so it was a pleasurable breakthrough to bring them out to play.

Thank you Angie for your latest post about throwing together casual layers. Today I went shopping and got a chambray denim and a military work shirt in a soft material. These are going to be workhorses! Already, trying them out, they revive so many other pieces in my closet, and make many winter bottoms fun to wear again.

My, the only analogy that comes to mind is that... and I hope you don't find this too tasteless to put it this way... it's as if I had been suffering closet constipation. And now I feel cured! (lol)

You nailed exactly the basics of a cool winter outfit. For the longest time, I had been trying to figure out what was missing in my closet. I am always having a hard time finding the right balance for casual clothes during the cold season. I either look too corporate or whimsical granny style. Your suggested ensembles are neither! The answer for me was in the shirts. And they could easily be worn at work as well as on the weekend. For some reason, I had overlooked that important detail. I had already gotten the cute cotton white shirts so now the outfits are complete, and completely likeable. Thank you!
