But since she often takes my photos she is involved in this whole process and sometimes looks at pictures and sees that we're all different -- and she thinks that is very cool. There are thousands of fashion bloggers out there but not many of them showcase the variety of shapes, ages, and sizes that you see here. Because I played team sports when I was younger, I've always aware that, as healthy women, we come in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. But today's onslaught of media images that promote only one body shape and size as the ideal makes me wonder how any young girl can grow up with a positive body image these days. It hurts when I see gorgeous young women in my classes lamenting about their "imperfections" and their feelings of being "too fat". Basically, my quite young DD is (despite my best efforts) starting to struggle with body image. We were discussing my interest in ylf and when I explained that women ask for feedback on how they can look better, she said "like hey, don't eat so many chicken wings?". While not thrilled with this comment, it gave me the chance to explain that any woman can look beautiful through pride in her appearance. Then, I was able to show her pictures of ylf members of different ages, races, shapes and sizes, looking stunning, stylish etc. As we know the media doesn't always provide us with images of women outside of a very narrow ideal. I've mentioned before how much I appreciate the inspiration of your WIW pictures, because standard fashion media, retailers etc don't give me a clue how *I* can wear the latest styles. And tonight I have another reason to thank you all for your amazing pictures, and Angie for providing the forum and constantly reminding us we all deserve great fit and style. Thank you! </p>
