I'm not sure we'd be the first group of women in history to do this. But yes, certainly true that we're constructing ourselves and construe each other too in many ways with our clothing choices, especially as we get more choice, invisible but fewer restrictions, and cross-cultural seeding...Interesting idea! Once you have fleshed it out, maybe you can tell us more about the sort of participation you're looking at?

A few conversations over the past day or so have got me really thinking about what it is we are DOING when we are working out who we are through what we are wearing. I have jokingly said for years that I would love to combine my love for fash and wardrobing with my research work about communication/identity/image etc. I have wondered if we are 'constructing' ourselves as perhaps the first group of women in history who are out there doing so many interesting and fascinating things rather than being hidden in the home. Actually I don't do feminist work, but am in communication and do some about constructing identity in our work etc. ANYHOW, I would need to develop this up some more and get ethical approval from my Uni etc (aka let you know what I am doing/using etc so nothing is under the table), but would people be interested in taking part somehow. SOOO many interesting stories on the forum...
