Thanks BD! I was pretty pleased with myself and how I looked that day.

Angie, yes. I think intuition plays right along with emotion, balancing out careful thinking.

Shevia, thanks

So much positive! Thanks, everybody.

Lady painter, you get me. Maybe better than I get myself, because I couldn’t have put it into words like that.

Bijou, that’s high praise, coming from you. Idk why I didn’t take a picture of the tweed that actually shows my eyes. Seeing as they are blue, the jacket is not bad with them.

Kkards, I hear what you’re saying about the socks. It was an attempt anyway.

Angie, thanks. Funny how I was all uptight about pattern mixing for a while, until I realized I do more of it than I’d realized.

Thanks CindySmith! I’m liking tonal matching these days, though of course that one just fell together once I decided to put on a blue on blue shirt while wearing blue jeans and always carrying a blue bag these days.

Jenn, I was embarrassed to show the backpack on here for a while, because when it came up in the context of whether or not to get the KS bag, responses were not positive. Good question about the colors. I thought maybe you’d uncovered the key to understanding why I rewear some pieces and don’t touch others, so I counted. Oddly enough, it’s the neutrals that I’m not wearing. Thanks for leading me to that insight.

Thanks Katerina. Looking at it again, you’re probably right about that mix. You have a good Saturday & rest of your weekend too.

Agree, no 1 looks great. I also like no 7 a lot and your new jacket/cardi. What a lovely find! Not sure about the pattern mix here, though. Personally, I think I would prefer it over a solid top... Have a great Saturday evening!

I don't think your backpack looks teenager-ish. #7 is my favorite. How are your Florida colors feeling in the Berlin light?

i'm one who is still on the fence about statement socks....for me in general, i think this is a look that is very hard for us fashion mere mortals to pull off...
my favorite of these looks is #1. Fab

You have a great and very natural style. I like the statement socks. I struggle with them too, the only ones that work for me are fishnet socks, though of course they don’t provide any warmth.

I really like your new tweed jacket, it is a beautiful colour on you.

Looks good! To me, it looks like you’re recombining elements to get outfit variety while repeating individual wears for practicality.

Time to report on week 2 already? I didn’t do such a good job writing down what I wore—hasn’t made it into my bedtime routine yet, but I did take some pictures. I’m not recording at-home clothes anymore now that I realize I have enough for our current situation.

2&3: Monday. My attempt at statement socks. Angie says they are too high contrast. I thought the point was to wear something that caught the eye because it was incongruent, but she knows over 1000x more about this than I do, and actually saw the fashion shows where they are featured.

Sunday I wore the same shirt, jeans and shoes with my pink cardigan. No socks. Wanted to wear white jeans, but they aren’t clean.

Tuesday I wore a dress I got last summer for the rehearsal dinner at my nephew’s wedding. Felt fab in it last year with fancy sash at the dinner and with tennies otherwise. Did not feel fab on Tues at first. Lack of necklace/accessories may have been the problem, so I put on a red, white, and blue (&black & white) cardi (finds). That felt decidedly better and may be repeated.

1&4: Wednesday. Mix of blues. I liked. It was a bit warm for the jeans for a while, but it was fine. Shirt was bought to wear 4th of July with red shorts, but I like it better this way. I’ve got to take better pix—my hand is covering the curved hem, which is so extreme it’s almost like a slit. I like it.

5,6,7: Thursday heading out to shop for work/interview clothes
8: also Thursday. How I came home from shopping for work clothes. Bought the topper and wore it out of the store. I might actually wear this pattern mix on purpose sometime. What do you think?

Friday & Sat. Wore my new jacket/cardi with a black empire top that has a slight pattern & my jeans.

9. Lunch companion mid-shopping expedition.

Analysis.
I repeat outfits. No surprise there. If I’m seeing the same people, as in a work situation, I don’t do it, but otherwise I see no reason not to repeat. Otherwise it’d take forever for things to get into the laundry & my “clirty” clothes area would be overwhelmed.

I don’t go out of the house in things I don’t like. Dress wasn’t hitting high happiness factor, so I tried something else.

Pink. Since when do I like/wear pink? It’s getting to be a regular thing with me. How odd.

My jeans are workhorses, as expected. Now that I’ve gotten the deal on my other new pants straightened out, I can start wearing them too.

My backpack looks like it belongs to a teenager popping bubble gum, but has been good to me. The size is just right for popping in a few things that I pick up around town, and it has snaps that let it expand a bit if I get a little more. After that, the shoppers come out. The pattern on it mixes easily with everything I own. It is not a work bag, but has given me a good feeling about a backpack for work. I haven’t carried one regularly since student knapsack days.
