Thanks so much for all the great info. Sounds like their sizing would be really iffy for me, and since they do not post dimensions on their web site (not even basic lengths of sweaters) I'll probably pass on them unless/until I am somewhere where there is a store.

I have bought Massimo Dutti when overseas as there is not a store in my city. I have found the quality to be quite consistent and higher than Zara. The items I have bought have been great. I particularly love my white wrap dress that I bought 12 months ago. It washes beautifully and is a lovely fabric to wear. It looks as pristine now as the day I bought it.

I checked them out while I was in New York. I thought in style terms they were a little like COS, which I think someone here once suggested. I bought a wool knit top from them that seems to be good quality.

Massimo Dutti has very good business clothes. Think white blouses, tailored pants, lightweight vneck sweaters - all with a tiny bit of an edge.

I've tried MD in Toronto stores for myself and the DS's, however found the cuts narrow and short. Good for tiny people, but not for me or mine. Also, they scent their stores.

About Winners, I found JBrand jeans this summer, and saw JCrew and Theory items in my local store. There is a Winners store on Front St. in TO that carries lots of designer and where a friend picked up Frette sheets! The store on College in TO is pretty cool, too. I once picked through some remarkable designer items worn for a runway show marked at 10% of original price.

Suz, I was so surprised myself last year when I found MD items @ Winners. I bought 3 blazers! Kept only one, other two would’ve required alterations. The most expensive one was $49.99. Shocking! :)
Today’s cardi below.

I like MD and have boots, cardigans, top and pants from them. I’m shotrwasted, 5’3 tall and unfortunately can’t fit in most of the blazers. I have two, bought on sale and altered. I like MD’s quality but sometimes found their style a bit conservative. I’m 2 in Banana Republic pants but 4 in MD. Sweaters might run narrow and long (for petites). Shoes are euro sizes, 38 runs like 7,5. I consider their shoes a very good value for the money. Most if not all leather lined.
Toronto actually has 3 stores (that I know of), so returns are easy.
Interestingly enough, I bought today a casual MD cardigan for $29.99 Can @ Winners. Winner sometimes sell MD items and at very low prices. I figured, it is probably because the original prices on tags are in euros. My cardigan was 49.95 euro. I bought MD pants @ Winners this and last year.

I hadn't heard of Massimo Dutti until FashIntern posted links to their fabulous denim line in one of my posts (where I was looking for denim trousers; thanks FashIntern!). I was really taken with what I saw. There was a pair of bootcuts that was so sharp and impeccably cut. It definitely made me want to know more.

There's a store in Toronto and one in Vancouver. I haven't ordered from them online but expect the experience would be good because ordering from Zara is good. I only own one piece by them -- my leather jacket. I bought this in a larger size than I would typically take. In fact, I think the jacket is M, when in American box stores (e.g. J. Crew and BR) I would take an XS, and I wear a S at Zara in jackets.

They are definitely worth checking out. I always think of Massimo Dutti as Bologna style. Conservative, neutral, luxe- looking, well-cut. (In reality the quality varies but is a bit better on the whole than Zara.)

I love Massimo dutti. I find their quality is great and have had very good luck with their items. In fact. I still have a silk shirt I ordered 7 years ago and have worn and washed regularly. The past few years their color selection did not work wit my wardrobe. But, if i saw something i liked, i would not hesitate to order again.

I always order one size up in M. Dutti, sometimes more if I want an oversized or slouchy fit. Their shipping and return is one of the best I have experienced, items arrive so fast. And the packaging is like opening a fancy gift! Their end-of-season sale prices can be unbelievable, too. Only a great experience so far.

i love massimo dutti. i find that their cuts are a touch curvier than they used to be but also cut small. i'm usually a 6 (who am i kidding, an 8) in bottoms and a 4-6 / small in tops and jackets.

i've lived in the two blouses in the finds and got the suit (also in finds). as a shortie, i hemmed the two blouses. the suit pants are a touch scratchy but impeccably tailored as is the jacket.

i have a slightly washed out / pastel maroon (is that a dark lilac?) wrap coat and maroon suede studded babouche slipper loafers bought last december toward the end of the f/w buying season. am in the market for their stellar white shirts this season.

can you tell i heart md

Thanks for all the info! Also thanks Angie for the info on JCREW fits being straight rather than narrow. That may explain why once in a while I find stuff that fits there.

..and to add to the discussion of the brand name..I found an online article from last year saying that Target is going to divest the Mossimo brand by the end of 2018. Just to make it interesting.

I like the store very much, and I am nodding to what Angie says and find their SA helpful. I find the sizing to be inconsistent and have to try on items to get it right. That said, I don’t have any of their items in my wardrobe currently - when I buy their items, I don’t find they last very long.

Generally when I order, I will take the size I normally wear, plus order one size up - that way I can compare and get free shipping.
Leather in particular is lovely - recently purchased the belt below, and shoes maybe 2 years ago?

I have no idea. They do collaborations with different designers in home and fashion . Varies from season to season. If you are asking where the Mossimo name come from .....he is /was an Italian designer who licensed his name to Target many years ago. Not sure he is a "big deal" though -or ever was.

What UmmLila said. I always look because I like the vibe - although they can be too neutral for my tastes at times - like Club Monaco. They have to catch me in a neutral mood :)

The fits are quite narrow, but also inconsistent. Higher end than Zara. Customer service is good.

(Actually, I think J.Crew runs a size big. But VERY straight. It's easy to confuse a narrow fit with a straight fit when you prefer a curvy fit).

Massimo Dutti is an Inditex company, that is, the same outfit as Zara. They are a higher quality line than Zara and their designs are a bit more conservative and less fast-fashion. I've been to a couple of their stores in Spain and presently own a handbag and scarf. I also owned a couple of linen sweaters a few years back that I have since passed on. I did order the sweaters online and don't recall any issues with the shipping.

There have definitely been discussions of this brand on the forum before, btw, in addition to items in finds.

I've been wanting to try some new brands and this one appeals to me. From what I can tell this company was founded in Spain. There are only two retail stores in the US, NYC and Washington DC, and one in Ottowa CA. They are showing Angie's brown, light blue, cream palette on their web site at the moment along with some others. They do not carry petite sizing but that is not always a deal breaker for me.

From what I see of styles and prices I'd judge them to be somewhere between Zara and Club Monaco in style, pricing, and quality with perhaps a little more leaning toward classic than either. I've seen lots of finds go by here on YLF from this brand, perhaps mostly captured by European fabbers.

I grabbed a few new finds just now that appealed. They do not seem to give body length dimensions for either of the sweaters so I'd probably think twice before ordering, expecting them to be too long.

For those who know this brand, how is the fit? Is it slim like JCREW or is it a bit fuller? How is the quality? How is their customer support re: shipping/returns?

Thanks for any and all info...
