Isabella, I hear you. The Xsensible sandals will not mesh with skinny jeans BUT work very well with wider leg pants and jeans. What I liked was that no matter the terrain, I could still walk briskly (for hours, they are 24 hr shoes) because you are elevated in them, away from the ground yet very stable.

I have the brisk bangle in black.

The t-bar does run true to size. The ankle strap is adjustable and I have mine on the smallest hole... and I have medium width feet but fat ankles. I do wear a huge shoe size so everything is proportionally bigger on them (size 12). They will probably be too wide if your feet are narrow.

Thank you all!
Kari: I did come across the blog a while back and browsed through, thank you for reminding me about it, I'll read more, there seem to be a lot of various shoes recommended, good choices for fall, too. I find it most difficult to find sandals AND fall/spring shoes (ballet flats or similar) that don't kill my feet. For some reason, boots are not that much of a problem, I lived in the MM King the whole last winter and they are so comfortable! (and great looking, too :)) I looked at the Indigo line but the ones I like most, are the high wedges, go figure LOL. Haven't heard of Naot though, will check, thanks!

Rae: I came across the Worishofer brand, but am afraid I won't be able to pull them off.. You have a lot more confidence in dressing and can make them work for you, I envy, because they sure look comfy!

Angie: thank you for the thumbs-up for the T-bar, glad to hear you recommend it, wish there were more color choices..

Lisalou: I'm sorry to hear the Clarks/Indigo didn't work for you, I think the cute Indigos (the high wedge models like the Finch) will be a no no for my feet too :(

Krishnidoux: thanks for the link, I'll check them out, they seem a little too casual for what I'm looking for, but they do look comfortable, I bet you can walk for days in those. I came to agree with the higher price being worth it (well, usually), well constructed shoes will last long, and comfort is not to be beat or overlooked (I used to suffer in cute shoes when I was younger LOL, no more...)

Sarah & Isis and others who chimed in about the Danskos, thanks for the insight re:Sissys, I like them and hope they'd work for a slightly narrow foot, how is sizing with them though? I checked some reviews and they seem very inconsistent, I wear 6.5-7 which should be a true 37? Should I size up to 38?

Marianna: glad to her you have both! I know the Brisk Bangles are very casual, I don't mind, which color do you have? Do the T-bars run true to size? Would they fit a narrow-to medium foot, the front strap is not adjustable..

Biscuitsmom, thanks for the sole product recommendation, all those shoes have those squishy suede like insoles, I bet they get extra dirty with wear, it's good to know they can be cleaned! I usually avoided light color, non-leather insoles for that matter.

Thanks for the input, wow, didn't realize so many people have foot issues, will probably order all thee of them and see which one will work best for my feet..

I have serious problems with my feet and have kept coming back to SAS sandals for yrs...they have incredible cushioning and hold up really, really well to a lot of use. Also would recommend Walking Cradles for my second choice. Both are rather pricy brands, but when you figure your cost-per-wear its a good deal....and you *NEED* to not have hurting feet....A great cleaner for both sandals and shoes is Aldo 'Suds' it gets the foot imprint right out....cost about $6 for a small bottle and has a built-in brush....Zappos has amazingly fast shipping and great customer service! Also very quick to credit your charge card or give you store credit -your choice- and they have that wonderful 365 day return policy!

ALWAYS TRY SHOES!!! Never assume! ;D

Even within a brand, I have some that work for my fussy feet, some that don't. I own Clarks, Clarks Indigo, Sofft, Ecco, Naturalizer, Locale /First and Dansko for comfort brands. Not all of the shoes of these brands have worked for me though.
It depends on many things including the designers, the last used and the factories supplying the shoes. Sometimes 1 factory will sell 2 similar shoes to different brands. Try to buy in person or with an online retailer with a good return shipping policy.

I agree with the other on the Clarks Indigo I have several pairs of the sandals but the Naot is my favorite when it comes to comfort.http://www.zappos.com/naot-foo.....el-leather These come in about 15 colors.

Haha I own both pairs of Clarks you linked to (I have very fussy feet). The Brisk Bangle are casual, day-off shoes for me. Super comfortable... good walking shoes... I don't love how they look, but they're not bad. The bangles help them look stylish. I wear them when I really need to be comfortable. Cute with walking shorts, clamdiggers. I wouldn't wear them with a dress.

I wear the Clarks T-bar to work and I work in RETAIL. I am on my feet all day long and they are just wonderful. I own them in red and black. The black are more versatile but both pairs get a ton of wear. I highly recommend them! I think they're really cute too. I wear them with everything.

I have a similar pair of dansko sandals (the surrayas) and they are super comfy. They're a little too wide for me in the ankle/heel area but since they have ankle straps they stay on fine. The platform gives a little height but still feels flat, and they have good arch support (my feet are very flat). They do not bother my bunion.

My favorite brand for comfort is naot. Some of their new styles are quite cute, assuming that you, like me, are on team chunky shoe. They tend to run narrow in the heel, which is great for me, while still leaving lots of bunion room.

I have found it necessary to go on a case by case basis--I just don't know if a shoe will work or not until I try it. I've had Clark's that work great and others I couldn't wear for long because they hurt so much. The strap across the ball of the foot is crucial for good fit. Many times lots of narrow straps cut into the bunion, but if they are close together and made of a soft material they might work. Wide straps may or may not work.

I look for straps made out of softer leathers or materials. It's a lot more work, but it you can find comfortable sandals. Along with bunions I have fallen metatarsals, so I usually need to use a Footpetal or other pad under the ball of the foot. Not always though. I need good arch support overall.

This year I am trying out a pair of Naots--a sandal that has good ratings, some Joseph Seibel (not sandals though) and a pair of Paul Greens. It has been such a cold spring that I haven't had much chance to wear sandals yet. Snow on Mt. Hamilton this morning (east of San Jose, CA). No one has ever heard of such a thing. Cold toes again.

I have the Dankso Sissy's and they are RIDICULOUSLY comfortable. 24 hr shoes.

I don't do heels as I can't walk in them and my feet hurt when I wear them. But these have a platform so the overall heel is probably less than 2 ''. I think they would be the most comfortable of the three.

I got them at a deep discount at Sierra Trading Post in red. They still have some sizes left so you may luck out!

Even if you pay full price, I think comfortable shoes are worth it. They last me for more than one year, and I am much happier at the end of the day! Priceless!

I will be the lone dissenter, but Clarks/Indigo shoes have been problematic for my problematic feet! I think they are so cute (the ones you picture are fab!), but for some reason, they don't agree with my bunion-y feet. Neither do Danskos! I say try 'em on--they may work great for you!

I don't have any of either of those brands, but I do have two pairs of "comfort brand" sandals that have passed the test for me.

I have these Worishofer sandals in a tan color. I would not have guessed they are orthopedic, and somehow the brand has gained a cult/celebrity following since I got mine: http://www.dnafootwear.com/pro.....d=DNA06591. The brand has a bunch of other styles, and they all seem really cute.

I also have these Softspots that I can literally wear all day with zero problems: http://www.footsmart.com/p-sof.....71010.aspx

Isabella, my apologies if you're already aware of this, but have you read BarkingDogShoes yet? The entire blog is centered around cute but comfortable shoes, as the author (Kirsten) suffers from foot pain but has a fun sense of style.

I haven't tried any of those sandals (due to having a *very* short sandal-wearing season in Seattle), but had great luck with the Indigo by Clarks Brulee sandals, and have noticed that the entire Indigo by Clarks line tends to be *very* comfortable. Naot and Naya are both brands of shoes that are both very comfort-centered.

My feet are very problematic. I'm genetically inclined to bunions, my mom has huge issues with bunions, but my late Grandpas feet would be a podiatrist biggest nightmare, and he spent his whole life in flat sandals, kid you not.. Mine are not that bad or painful, but I gave up heels and any type of almond shaped shoe (forget pointy) in my early 20s. I don't work now so I spent my days either barefoot in the house or flat shoes outside (ballet flats, flat boots, 1.5" heel at the most). My feet are also flat at pancakes..
Are the comfort sandals worth their hype and price? I need a comfy but presentable flat (or wedge) sandal that will not give me a foot pain, was wondering about Clarks and Danskos in particular. Any owners that can give me insight out there? Here are the particualar ones I'm interested in:
http://www.zappos.com/clarks-w.....rown-suede
http://www.zappos.com/dansko-sissy
Any other ones that are comfy-as-can-be and not bad looking??? TIA
