<p>I agree with Una; Smythe jackets are lovely but definitely a designer, not mass market, fit. I'd put them in the same category as Theory, but with more innovative cuts and designs.

<p>They have never, ever fit me. I'm a 10 in jackets and do not have a strong shoulder line. Cut very small.

<p>I have narrow shoulders and a 27" waist, but even still, jackets tend to be loose in the waist, and don't give me the shoulder/waist definition that I'm seeking. I own J.Crew Hacking Jacket in size 2--fits well in the bust and waists, hits perfectly at the shoulder, but is tight in the armpit area. I've tried on jackets by Theory, and they were also a similar fit.</p>
<p>I would take broader shoulders over a jacket, if that's any consolation.

<p>They are beautifully cut and great quality but run quite small for the broad-shouldered.&nbsp; I think Angie has one and can give you expert advice.&nbsp; I have coveted one forever but like Burberry they are not cut for my body type.

<p>I really love the cut of some of the Smythe jackets,&nbsp;but am wondering about the hefty price tag that comes with the jacket, as well as the sizing. I'm looking to get one or two jackets next year as I transition to work, and go on the market for teaching. The Duchess jacket and the&nbsp;Sharp Shoulder Metallic Jacket looked appealing, although I'm not sure the the latter would be flattering with somebody who has a fair/pink complexion and low contrast hair/eyes. Do the jackets hold up year after year? What is the quality of the fabric? Is the fit as tailored as reviews make out? Are the polyesters more breathable than other poly jackets? Thoughts and insight most welcome.<div><div><br /></div><div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div><div></div></div><div></div></div>
