I just got my very first pair of Vogs thanks to Suz and they are incredibly comfortable - wide enough to accommodate my borderline wide foot, great footbed with excellent cushioning, very well made and incredibly sturdy. I have heard that the sizing is a bit all over the place but with the right size, a winning shoe IMHO.

Gaylene, I find dansko really uncomfortable, so it they aren't in that category that might be a good thing!

I've been total Fluevog fan for years and I think Mochi has nailed it exactly. The shoes are unique and eye-catching, yet extremely comfortable, if the last fits your foot. John uses different lasts for different styles (those are the families that Diana talks about) so it's important to try on the shoes to check if a style/last works for your foot. As for the designs, people either love them or hate them because most of the styles look quite different than the mainstream shoe styles.

I'd say that most Fluevog wearers primarily buy the shoes for the funky, arty designs, but get hooked by the comfort and quality. That said, though, I wouldn't really put Fluevogs into a comfort shoe category like Dansko.

I love the styles of Fleuvogs and I have tried a few pairs but my feet didn't like them. I found them narrow and uncomfortable. That being said, I do not live in the most fashion-forward of cities and the selection available for trying on is limited at best. I'm figuring that the ones I tried on are not representative of the rest of the label. I think you'll get lots of great feedback from the forum on this brand, so don't be overly influenced by what I've said

Also, for what it's worth I'm still only on my first pair. But I do get tempted...maybe it's good that they're so pricey--just a bit less and I'd be in a lot of trouble!

I just bought a pair ( the Giulia boots, operetta family) and found them very comfy, esp for 2.25" heels, and I owned a pair of Mary janes in the fellowship family in the past that were slightly too short and wide.
The sizing and comfort can very widely, but the good thing is that they come in families built on the same last so you can at least have a decent idea how other family members fit after you've tried some on. I agree they are generally well made but I do find the leather a bit stiff on some. And a 4" heel is still a 4" heel.
Of all the ones I've tried, I find the operettas most comfy.
Oh, and know that your feet *will* get stared at, and you'll get compliments. They are not wallflower shoes and are very recognizable.

Some styles run too narrow for me. They are generally well made and constructed and comfortable. But I do suggest going to a store and trying as many on as you can.

Peri, I have one pair. They're about a 3" wedge, Mary Janes in red. They are cute and very comfortable. I normally don't find it easy walking in a heel but there's great cushioning.

Be careful with taking the plunge with Fluevogs. They are arty, funky shoes in extremely unique and catchy designs. You may find the first pair a gateway drug. Vogs are not cheap, they're comfortable, well-made and you will get tons of compliments and start looking at more and more pairs......

I just saw a picture of a pair of this brand of shoes that looked like loafers with thick rubber tread soles. Like they might be cushioned and supportive enough for my woeful feet to try.

Any experience with this brand? Are they soft and cushiony? Firm and hard? Any arch support?
