Have any of you ever heard or tried the NO! NO!?? It's all over the shopping channel here. It has one of those K-tel Fishin' Magician feels about it but wondered if real people have tried it. It seems like electro-shock for hair removal.
Hate to post an ad but here goes: https://www.trynono.com/PS_L2/.....38;q=no-no

Eeek! You are all scaring me with these reviews. I think I'm going to stick to waxing for now...

Scarlet, interestingly, my legs appear to be MORE sensitive than my armpits. I usually just shave the pits and don't find it irritating at all, but shaving (even with a new razor) makes my legs itchy and rashy. I think the skin on my legs tends to be thin and dry, so it's more sensitive - it sounds like an epilator would probably irritate it a lot.

I am frustrated as I feel sure that an epilator should be the easiest/cheapest/most convenient solution. I have moderate dark brown hair, which shows up against my pale skin.

My experience has been:
- initially very painful and still not entirely pain-free. Bearable (and it took me some time to work out that going over the same areas reduces the pain, sort of like 'rubbing it better')
- it takes me quite a time to epilate each lower leg thoroughly (20 mins or so?)
- in theory, once this has been done a couple of weeks running, to get the regrowth, it should be quite quick to keep on top of it once a week. In practice it seems to take the same time each week.
Which leads me to my final point... It may make quite a difference what type of epilator you get. I feel sure I could have more success with a 'better' epilator, but despite reading reviews I didn't manage to find a really good one (I assume...). I chose a reliable brand but a basic model.

Don't know if any of that is any use!

Incredibly painful and unsightly broken capillaries. I am queen sensitive skin/legs, though, so you may have better luck. I understand it works well for other people. I think the only way it would be tolerable is if you first wax and then go back very regularly to catch the regrowth when it is few and far between. I can't even conceive of approaching my armpits with one of those apparatuses.

I have one and I use it for legs and armpits. For some reason it works very well for my armpits but not as well for my legs. It does not get all of the hair so I have to go back and use it again and again. Then, I do not have all that much hair so I am sometimes not too bothered by the less than perfect job my epilator does. My skin is somewhat sensitive and it reacts to the epilator with red, irritated spots. I think waxing might be better but at this time I do not want to spend money on salon waxing.

Now that it is bare legs season finally around here... I am once again thinking about methods of leg hair removal. I'm curious about trying an epilator - could any of you ladies who use them educate me about them?

For background, I do not have very much leg hair at all (basically only in certain places below the knees) but what I do have is coarse and black, so very visible, and it grows fairly fast. Recently I have been waxing at home using the precoated wax strips from the drugstore, but I don't like waiting until the hair is long enough, and I'm always missing or breaking some hairs, so have to go back with a tweezer to clean up. Tweezing tends to give me ingrown hairs (I have actually plucked my entire legs once or twice - like I said, I don't have very much hair!), although for some reason waxing does not. Shaving causes major irritation so I prefer not to do it, plus I do not want the hair getting any coarser!

I guess I'm most curious about how sensitive skin responds to the epilator, and whether or not it will get everything in one go. I'm not too worried about the pain... like I said above, I once plucked my entire legs with a pair of tweezers!
